Thank you to Milberger’s for hosting our 2026 PJ in the Pumpkin Patch event! The pumpkin patch was gorgeous, the maze just a little scary, the PJ books fantastic and the snacks delicious 🎃🍂

We read 3 books, including Pumpkin Pie for Sigd. We learned about Sigd, Ethiopian Jewish traditions and communicating with our friends who may not speak the same language as we do, and how traditions feel like home.

Maddi’s Fridge is the kind of story that tugs at your heartstrings and opens the door to meaningful conversations with your little one! Sofia and Maddi are best friends, and after a day of playing, they are hungry. Sofia runs ahead to Maddi’s apartment and opens her refrigerator, only to discover there isn’t any food inside. When Sofia asks Maddi why her refrigerator is empty, Maddi explains that her family doesn’t have money for food, but begs Sofia to keep it a secret.

Today, we remember the lives taken by Hamas in the brutal attack that started at 6:29am on October 7, 2023. Hamas murdered over 1,200 people, many being civilians, and took 251 hostages.

This was the deadliest single day for Jews since the Holocaust.

We will never forget. May their memories forever be a blessing. 🇮🇱
