[1/20 2:45 PM] 🚨 Extreme cold this weekend will put pipes at significant risk for damage, which will be worsened by any potential power outages. Central TX stays below freezing ~2.5 days, while North TX stays below freezing for 3.5-4 days. Prepare your home BEFORE Friday! 🚨

Few things that can help protect your pipes during freezing weather:
1. Start a slow drip on both hot and cold faucets in your house; and set a slow steady drip on your hose faucets outside.
2. Remove electronic and mechanical timers, hoses, and fixtures from your outside faucets.
3. Cover your faucets with bib covers. Protect exposed pipes with pipe insulation (or pool noodles).
4. Protect your pipes from wind if possible.
5. Open cabinet doors with plumbing next toyour exterior or garage walls.

If your pipes freeze, open all your faucets in your house. Start to warm your plumbing as close as possible to the city water. Look for leaks and shut off your water if you find a leak and have your plumbing repaired. I recommend knowing how to turn off the water at the water main before you need to turn it off.

Pro tip, drip your hot and cold faucets and open your cabinets to your kitchen.
If you haven't insulated your pipes or put bib covers on them, plastic bags bunched up on a dripping hose bib and pipe will work too.
If your pipes freeze, turn on all your faucets. And warm your pipes starting from where it comes out of the ground into your house.

What that does is allows the pressure to back into the city water and as the water thaws in your house it starts to release the pressure out of the pipes. The water at the distant ends of your plumbing is thawed, so releasing the pressure may save you from burst pipes.

**Q9: Can you draw up a plan on what you’re looking for to allow the landscaping to come in and provide an accurate quote?**

A9: To support the efforts in leveraging the City of San Antonio’s Sustainability Grant for the Stonewood Neighborhood Park at Champions Hill and Villa Camino, here are some specific opportunities that align well with the grant’s goals:
- **Park Beautification & Safety Enhancements**: Excavation and refill with clean playground mulch, removal of hazardous light poles, electrical rework around gazebo and shed for safety, bush pruning and replacement, plumbing rebuild for park faucets, and lighting upgrades for the Stonewood sign.
- These improvements directly support energy efficiency, public safety, and community engagement, making them strong candidates for grant funding.

**Q8: Does the enforcement of parking rules apply to additional cars parked on the street as well?**

A8: According to Texas Transportation Code §545.302, parking regulations on public roadways—including residential streets—are governed by state law and local ordinances. The City of San Antonio enforces parking restrictions such as:
- No parking in front of fire hydrants, driveways, or within intersections
- Vehicles are not allowed to remain parked on a roadway for more than 24 hours
- Oversized vehicle restrictions (more than 24 feet in length, 8 feet in height, or 8 feet in width)
- No parking on unimproved areas like soil or grass in the front or side yard of a home

Property Owner Associations (POA/HOA) rules may augment these state and city codes with additional restrictions. The Stonewood Association may issue violation letters for vehicles that appear to be in violation of city code or HOA guidelines, but enforcement authority rests with the City of San Antonio. The HOA typically reports violations to the city through Professional Management Assist (PMA) for follow-up.
