During Women's History Month, we celebrate the strength, leadership, and contributions of women across every part of society. But honoring women also means recognizing the challenges that they overcome – especially women returning home after incarceration and who are determined to lead a safe and productive life.
Did you know that many women enter incarceration with higher rates of trauma, less access to healthcare, fewer educational opportunities, and greater family responsibilities than their male counterparts? Many navigated poverty, trauma, addiction, or unstable housing long before their arrest.
Did you know when women return home, they often face overwhelming challenges: barriers to employment, housing discrimination, untreated trauma, and a heightened risk of homelessness and overdose in the weeks following release?
Did you know that Crosspoint is one of the few programs working to help address these challenges —providing the support women need to rebuild their lives.
• Stable housing
• Trauma-informed support
• Mental health and recovery resources
• Workforce development and education
• Community reintegration opportunities
• Connection to childcare support services
This month, Crosspoint is proud to honor the resilience of women determined to rebuild their lives despite enormous barriers. Their success is made possible through opportunity, hope, and support designed with women in mind.
