San Antonio Texas Exes

We are the San Antonio chapter of UT’s official alumni association, the Texas Exes®. We'll keep you posted on our page of what's coming up!

Our goal is to help develop connections to the past, present, and future of UT Austin and between Texas Exes members by providing fun and meaningful involvement opportunities. Our activities are geared toward UT Austin alumni who live in the San Antonio area, though anyone interested in supporting UT can attend our events. The mission of the Texas Exes is to praise, promote, and protect UT Austin

and its students; and to unite, inform, and involve Texas Exes members and potential members in the support of UT in particular and of education in general. We support this mission primarily through fundraising efforts to award our community’s best and brightest students funds in the form of Texas Exes San Antonio Chapter scholarship awards. We have a few great fundraising events each year to help support the scholarship fund! We also have networking events, game watching parties, local happy hours and several other social activities.

What a great afternoon celebrating San Antonio's newest Longhorns! 🤘🧡

This past weekend, we welcomed the Class of 2030 and their families to our annual Student Send-Off at Chicken N Pickle before they begin their journey on the Forty Acres.

From meeting fellow incoming students to connecting with local Longhorns, it was a fun afternoon filled with excitement, encouragement, and plenty of burnt orange spirit.

Congratulations to the Class of 2030! We can't wait to see where your Longhorn journey takes you. We'll be cheering you on every step of the way.

We're looking forward to welcoming San Antonio's newest Longhorns and their families to our annual Student Send-Off this weekend!

As our incoming students prepare to head to the Forty Acres, they'll hear firsthand from a current UT student, a young alumnus, and a Longhorn parent who will share their experiences, advice, and words of encouragement for the journey ahead.

A special thank you to our amazing speakers for coming together to invest in the next generation of Longhorns. Your willingness to share your time, experiences, and insights makes this event so meaningful.

We can't wait to celebrate the Class of 2030 and send them off in true Longhorn fashion.

One of the best ways to go deeper with the Texas Exes San Antonio Chapter is to join a committee, and we are officially launching our 2026-2027 committee lineup and looking for passionate Longhorns to join us.

Whether you're passionate about serving the community, planning events, supporting scholarships, or helping with our signature Boots & Bevo Gala, there's a place for you. Best of all, you don't have to be a board member to get involved—committees are open to alumni, family, friends, and Longhorn fans.

🧡📖 Calling All Longhorn Readers — We’ve Got Something Special for You! We are THRILLED to announce Longhorns Are Readers — a brand-new book club launching this August under the Texas Exes San Antonio Chapter!

This club is for everyone in the Longhorn family — alumni, family members, friends, and fans. If you love books and love Texas, there is a seat at our table.

Our reading will focus on:
• UT authors — alumni, faculty & staff
• Texas authors and storytellers
• Titles published by the University of Texas Press

And our first meeting? We’re doing it together — the whole group will vote on our very first book selection!

Our 2026-27 Board of Directors kicked off the year in true Longhorn fashion at our Annual Board Retreat and Meet & Greet! We spent the day building connections, shaping our vision for the year ahead, learning from inspiring guest speakers, mapping out an exciting calendar of events, and organizing committees that will help bring our mission to life. We wrapped up the day by welcoming alumni and sharing ways to get involved. Thank you to everyone who attended and brought such incredible energy and enthusiasm. We can't wait to make this an unforgettable year for the Texas Exes San Antonio Chapter. Hook 'em!

🤘 We're proud to spotlight our Board Meet & Greet location host, Leigh's!

Owned by fellow Longhorns Josie Patrick ('09) and John Patrick ('07), Leigh's was created with one simple idea in mind: bringing people together. This beautiful gathering space was designed to feel warm, welcoming, and perfect for celebrating life's special moments and building community.

We're grateful to Josie and John for opening their Longhorn-owned venue to our chapter, and we can't wait to gather there for our Board Meet & Greet on July 18.
