The Gun Control groups are trying to capitalize on legislators ignorance about how fi****ms work to ban all semi-autos that can be converted to full auto… so, basically all semi-automatics would be subject to review of “easily” they could be converted.

The proposed restrictions (moving in several states) ostensibly focus on “G***k Switches”, but the verbiage in the bill could be used to restrict many more fi****ms than just G***ks.

2ND AMENDWHAT?

FYI: Maryland has now passed legislation targeting G***k-style pistols utilizing what is known as a “cruciform trigger bar” design.

The law is aimed at the internal trigger geometry used in standard G***k pistols and many G***k-pattern clones. Legislators argue that the design is more susceptible to illegal “switch” conversions that can unlawfully convert a handgun into something fully automatic.

Beginning January 1, 2027, Maryland will prohibit the future manufacture, sale, transfer, and receipt of affected pistols. Current possession does not appear to be the primary focus of the law.

Many gun owners will be surprised to learn this law will impact not only G***k (arguably the most popular firearm in America and beyond), but a large number of G***k-compatible platforms and aftermarket systems as well.

As always, this is an evolving area of law and guidance from Maryland State Police and the courts will likely shape how broadly this legislation is ultimately enforced.

The tone of today’s ATF press conference was refreshing.

We are glad to hear that the “brace rule” is finally being laid to rest, and that there will be serious attempts made to clarify vague language, make transportation of NFA items simpler and make the paperwork process for FFLs more efficient & modern.

These new PROPOSALS will be posted to the Federal Registry and there will be an open comment period. We encourage all responsible gun owners to participate… even if you like what you see and just want to explain why! As always, we discourage the use of form letters.

If you missed the press conference, it is available on YouTube.

This Bill started life as a template from
A gun control organization. The committee testimony reveals that… and they admit that they don’t know how many guns it will affect and that they want the law to be passed in other States as well.

Get Active Connecticut!

Connecticut’s “G***k Ban” passed the House

Here’s what that means:

• The bill targets certain semiautomatic pistols that lawmakers say can be easily converted into machine guns with a “G***k switch” or similar device.

• It would make it a crime to sell, import, transport, or offer these guns for sale in Connecticut.

👉 Right now, the bill is not law yet.

• Next, it goes to the Connecticut Senate.

• If the Senate passes it, it goes to Governor Lamont.

• If the governor signs it, then it becomes law.

This is another example of how often gun laws can change—and how complicated they are.

Good work continues to get done by the NRA BoD and engaged members. This weekend saw more steps forward in regard to reform. Ron Andring finally got his conflict of interest bylaw change proposal voted on and passed by those at the Members’ Meeting. He spoke with Jon Petrolino about the progress:

Cam Edwards recently spoke with Dr. Michael Siegel about a policy package that attempts to protect Gun Rights while also reducing negative outcomes involving fi****ms.

The conversation is a great dialogue between two people with vastly different backgrounds, but who are both rightfully concerned about fi****ms involved harms. Cam is an ardent defender of the Second Amendment and was understandably skeptical of Siegel's project. Over the past couple of months, he's covered the policy package a few times... each time evolving his opinion based on the nuances he has learned from various participants including BJ Campbell, David Yamane, our own Rob Pincus, and, in this conversation, the project leader who works at Tufts University.

Unfortunately, technical difficulties cut the dialogue a bit short, but Cam did express an interest in continuing the conversation at a future date.

2AO agrees with Cam that the policy package, which was formulated with an eye towards "What would work in Red States?" would obviously be a significantly better set of policies than the current ones in Blue States such as MA, CA, and NY. Clearly, Gun Owners in Virginia would be much better off if Dr. Siegel's package was on their Governor's desk than the current set of reprehensible anti-gun bills that do nothing but take away rights and restrict responsible gun owners.

Articulate and Thoughtful responses to questions about gun rights are a key component of effective Grass Roots Advocacy.

Professor David Yamane has spent over a decade studying U.S. Gun Culture. He recently posted a video with his responses to nine questions about gun rights posed to him by the BBC. Some questions were very straightforward, while others showed what we would definitely characterize as having an anti-gun bias. Professor Yamane did an excellent job of responding thoroughly, while taking the time to push back reasonably against the unfair assumptions underlying some of the questions.

Rhetoric and Talking Points only “work”inside the echo chamber… they might increase clicks, donations and votes from people who already agree with us. It takes dialogue, explanation and logical trains of thought to change someone’s mind on gun rights issues. This video serves as a great example of how to respond to typical questions from outside of the gun community:

Regardless of this administration’s spotty record on Second Amendment Issues, or what you think about Pete Hegseth, you have to admit that THIS is a solid gun rights WIN!

Repost from Second Amendment Foundation

SAF fully supports Secretary Hegseth’s decision to enable our service members to be able to carry personal fi****ms on military bases, with any denials requiring a written explanation. SAF believes any “gun-free zones” are constitutionally questionable, and also create soft targets that are enticing to criminals and others bent on violence.

The fact that military bases, of all places, have been under such restrictions has long been perplexing to us. Serving your country should not require the wholesale abandonment of the Second Amendment right of armed self-defense. It’s excellent to hear that this dangerous policy is finally changing.
