This week, the Paws for Purple Hearts San Antonio team had the honor of attending the Warrior Games, where our dogs and trainers spent time connecting with incredible Warriors and their families from across the military community.

Through social therapy and meaningful interactions, our dogs help provide moments of comfort, connection, and stress relied-one friendly greeting at a time. These experiences not only support the well being of veterans and service members, but also help our dogs continue developing the confidence and skills needed to become future assistance dogs.

We are proud to support events like the Warrior Games that celebrate resilience, recovery, and the enduring strength of our military community.

Thank you to all the Warriors, families, volunteers, and supporters who make these moments possible. It is an honor to serve those who have served our nation.

PPH San Antonio is proud to represent our home town in the NBA playoffs!

Today the PPH San Antonio pack stopped by The Rock at La Cantera to show some Spurs pride, snap a photo with everyone’s favorite mascot, Coyote, and grab some Spurs gear!🐺🐾

As the Spurs continue their playoff run, we’re cheering right alongside the rest of San Antonio. We’re proud to be part of a community that always shows up for each other — on and off the court.

Harry and Matilda received their official PPH San Antonio pictures today, and they are hard at work every day in their roles as Assistance dogs in training!

We are so excited to welcome her to our program and begin watching her grow, learn, and develop into a future partner for a Veteran or Service Member in need.

A new future service dog in training will soon be joining the Paws for Purple Hearts San Antonio team — and we couldn’t be more excited.

Every assistance dog journey begins with a curious puppy, dedicated trainers, and a mission to one day support a veteran in need.

🐾 Yosemite's Story🐾

From puppy photos to adulthood, Yosemite’s journey with Paws for Purple Hearts has been filled with growth, love, training, and purpose.

Yosemite is what we proudly call a “Career Change Dog.” While she may not have public access as a Service Dog, her path with Paws for Purple Hearts still allows her to change a Veteran’s life forever — just in a different capacity.

Like all of our dogs, Yosemite was carefully evaluated throughout her training journey to ensure the role she ultimately fills is the best fit for her personality, temperament, and long-term happiness. Although the demanding work of service dog life was not the perfect match for her, she is still an incredible dog with so much love and companionship to give.

We are so excited that Yosemite will continue her mission alongside a Veteran, proving that every dog has an important purpose and every partnership matters.
