Participants at Empower House recently completed their first session from our Cooking with EFNEP program here at the Bexar County Greenies Urban Farm!

They explored practical cooking skills, healthy recipes, and useful tips for living a healthier lifestyle.

We're proud to support families as they gain confidence in the kitchen and make healthy choices for themselves and their loved ones!

We want to give a big shout out to all the campers with San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department and all our other summer sites!

Students learned about the 5 food groups, how to make healthier food choices, and that running and playing is a great way to be physically active!

Did you know ice cream is a dairy food??

Students at Harlandale ISD learned that ice cream is in fact a dairy food, but also that there are healthier options like low-fat milk and cheese which is why we save sweet treats for special occasions and parties!

They also learned that eating dairy foods help our bodies get the calcium it needs to grow strong bones and teeth.

We are enjoying all of our spring youth classes and looking for a few more summer youth sites!
