The Great Commission Theatre As a ministry, we produce high-quality stage productions that are relevant, inspire hope and encouragement, and are accessible to all audiences.

The Great Commission Theatre produces and presents compelling stage works from a Christian worldview that inspire, challenge, and draw audiences into deeper reflection on the human experience and the truth of the Gospel. We promote creative voices by partnering with local playwrights to develop new work that aligns with our mission to proclaim God’s Truth through transformational theatre productions.

🎭 What an extraordinary evening!

Our inaugural Saints for Today brought original stories to life through an incredible community of playwrights, directors, actors, production artists, panelists, collaborators, and an audience willing to encounter something new.

We are especially grateful to School of Theology for partnering with us to make this evening possible.

To everyone who joined us, supported us, prayed for us, and shared their gifts - thank you.

The show may have closed on our first Saints for Today, but the story is just beginning. ❤️🎭

As we prepare for Saints for Today, I've been reflecting on why stories matter.

I recently watched this TED Talk, and one line has stayed with me:
"We need your art."

As Christians, I believe we can take that one step further:
"God can use your art."

Created in the image of the Creator, we are invited to be "co-creators with God", using our gifts to bring truth, goodness, beauty, and hope into the world.

That's why I believe theatre—and every form of authentic creativity—matters. Stories have the power to open hearts, inspire reflection, and remind us that holiness is still possible today.

If you've ever wondered whether your creativity has a purpose, I think you'll enjoy this TED Talk.

Making art isn’t self-indulgent — it’s an essential, radical act of creation, says writer Amie McNee. She explores the importance of having a creative practice, whether you’re a long-time artist or an aspiring one, and shows how to move past self-doubt and start expressing yourself. If you.....

🎭 What inspired Saints for Today?

Over the past few months, I've dreamed, prayed, and worked toward creating an evening where theatre becomes a place of reflection, conversation, and hope.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Antonio Frietze on the Leaving Nothing Undared podcast to share the story behind Saints for Today—how this production came to be, why these stories were selected, and why I believe the arts have the power to open hearts and invite us to see holiness through the human experience.

If you've been curious about the vision behind this production, I'd love to invite you to watch. Then join us on Saturday, August 15 at Oblate School of Theology.

Holiness isn't reserved for history books.

It's found in moments of mercy. Acts of courage. Unexpected forgiveness. Quiet hope.

Join us for Saints for Today: An Evening of Staged Readings, where six original plays invite us to explore what holiness looks like in our own lives.

Following the performances, stay for a live conversation with theologians and pastoral leaders as we reflect together on the stories we've experienced.

⭐OFFICIAL SELECTION⭐

We are honored to announce The Other World Is This One by Garrett M. Brown as the final work in our theatrical pilgrimage for Saints for Today.

Hope often arrives quietly—not by escaping this world, but by seeing it with new eyes.

Beautifully written and deeply reflective, this moving conclusion invites us to recognize grace in the ordinary and reminds us that heaven is not only a distant promise, but a reality that can begin here and now.

What if heaven begins here?
