💜 Safe communities support healthy minds.

As we recognize World Mental Health Day, we’re reflecting on the importance of listening, connection, and access to support especially for children and families impacted by violence.

ChildSafe was honored to have Sarah Guerra, Director of Family Support Services, and Jennifer Pacheco, Partner Relations Manager, attend Senator José Menéndez ’s Domestic Violence Awareness Town Hall.

Meet the ChildSafe Development Team 💙

Last year, ChildSafe walked with 3,340 children on their path to healing. Each child found a safe place to be heard, to be believed, and to begin again.

Our Development Team helps make that care possible. They bring together events, volunteers, donor relations, and grants, working side by side to build meaningful community support and secure the resources that help ChildSafe serve children and families.

There are many ways to stand with ChildSafe this year:

🎟️ Glitz Glam Purse Bingo
A fun brunch full of games and designer purse prizes, all to support children and families.

⛳ Fairways Fore Futures Golf Tournament
A day of golf, friendship, and fun that helps children heal.

🪧 Legacy Wall of Courage
Individuals and businesses can leave a lasting mark in the halls of ChildSafe. Each named plaque tells the children and families we serve that a whole community believes in them.

👩 Women of Courage Volunteer Committee
Passionate women who give their time in whatever way fits their lives. They help at events, open doors to new supporters, and share the ChildSafe story.

💜 Building resilience starts with connection.

This past weekend, ChildSafe was proud to be part of the Guardians of the Children - San Antonio Sisterhood event, bringing together teen girls and their caregivers and guardians for a day of learning, connection, and empowerment.

✨ ChildSafe Director of Community Awareness, Anna Munoz, led a workshop on Building Resilience, while our Director of Family Support Services, Sarah Guerra, shared valuable Community Resources to help families navigate challenges and find support.

We're grateful to Guardians of the Children San Antonio for their partnership and Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA) for hosting such a meaningful event!

One conversation can make a difference, but ongoing conversations can help make safety part of everyday life. 🧡

Thank you to Cable Elementary and their Communities In Schools coordinator for inviting ChildSafe to participate in their Enrichment Day! We had the pleasure of engaging students from kindergarten through 5th grade in an interactive My Body Safety Rules activity.

Students explored who they can turn to as trusted adults and how to recognize the signals their bodies can give them when they feel unsafe. Each student also received a My Body Safety Rules bookmark and coloring sheet to help continue the conversation at home.

We’re grateful to partners like Cable Elementary who make prevention education part of the school experience and help children build the skills and confidence to speak up and ask for help.

Ready to bring conversations like these to your community? ChildSafe offers training and educational opportunities for youth, parents, volunteers, and youth-serving professionals. Our Cardboard Kids body safety materials are also available to download on our website, making it easy to incorporate prevention conversations throughout the school year.
