Today, and every day, LULAC 22198 - Orgullo de San Antonio & LGBTQVoces Council #22439 Honors the ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐จ ๐ฆ๐๐ง ๐๐ง๐ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ง, and all whoโve stood in defense of this nation โ from its earliest battles to our present day.
Our communities have always been on the frontlines: ๐ฌ๐๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐ , ๐ฌ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ข๐๐ข๐ง๐ , ๐๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ก๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฒ ๐จ๐ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ฒ, even when so many of our stories were erased, overlooked, or left untold.
This year especially โ amid all that our nationโs most vulnerable communities are facing โ we pause to recognize not just service, but the quiet resilience it takes to serve a nation that does not always see or celebrate you.
We as councils that proudly serve at the intersection of our #๐ณ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ and #๐ณ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ป ๐จ๐

your bravery was not only required on the battlefield, but in the act of existing authentically in a world that demanded your silence.
So today we remember the many

๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ โ
many who fought for a country that did not always fight for them,
many who would return home to communities wrestling for dignity and basic equality,
Who watched others flourish for generations because of benefits not granted to them simply because of the color of their skin.
Yet lived with their heads held high, carrying their service with pride โ even when their names were not written into history.
We honor the countless ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ โ who chose to serve a nation their families once journeyed towards with nothing but hopes and dreams.
Their uniforms serving as the price of citizenship, paid for with blood, sweat, and tears.
We honor the ๐๐๐๐๐
๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ who stepped into the ranks of the Armed Forces, earning the title of โAmericanโ through service, duty, and devotion.
We honor the countless ๐ข๐๐ฃ & ๐ฌ๐ค๐ข๐๐ฃ ๐ฌ๐๐ค ๐จ๐ค๐ช๐๐๐ฉ ๐ง๐๐๐ช๐๐, ๐จ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ฉ๐ฎ, ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฅ๐ช๐ง๐ฅ๐ค๐จ๐ ๐๐ฃ ๐ช๐ฃ๐๐๐ค๐ง๐ข, yet carry the invisible wounds of Military Sexual Trauma (MST). Your survival is not only courageousโ but a testimony of unbreakable strength, resilience & survival in spite of what was meant to break you.
We honor the ๐

๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐
, whose service will always speak louder than the circumstances of their removal. Their loyalty, commitment, and sacrifice do not disappear simply because the nation failed to care for them with the dignity they earned, and care they were promised.
We honor all who earned the title โ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ป๐ช๐ทโ, those who came home, and those who did not.
Those forced to serve in silence,
and those who later stepped into advocacy โ making it possible for others to simply live, love, and serve freely.
Your service is honored.
Your sacrifice is remembered.
Your unwavering commitment to โCountry Before Selfโ as members of historically marginalized communities will never be forgotten or erased.
