Our Chapter enjoyed a delicious meal at Kemuri Tatsu-Ya the food and service was fantastic! Then we went out on Lady Bird Lake guided by The Expedition School (owned by our Chapter member Kimery Duda ♥️). She and her team treated like rockstars! What a great way to start a week!

Saturday was a day to remember!

Our 2026 “Spirit of the WASP” Aviation Scholarship recipient, Christine Clark, joined us for Tailwheel Day in the morning, then we celebrated her properly that evening — a scholarship dinner in a speakeasy-style private room at Haywire in The Domain.

We enjoyed a lovely meal, honored the legacy of the WASP, and shared our stories and support for Christine as she continues her journey toward becoming a Certified Flight Instructor.

This scholarship exists because of the women who came before us — and it continues because of the ones who show up to carry it forward. Christine, we’re so proud to stand behind you. Here’s to your next chapter!

Yesterday’s Tailwheel Day at Stiletto Airpark

Great group, great flying, and a huge thank you to our instructors — you made it fun and made everyone better pilots in the process. Thanks to Stiletto Airpark (XS79) for the hospitality and sharing your beautiful facility with the Ninety-Nines.

Already looking forward to the next one.

We are thrilled to announce our 2026 “Spirit of the WASP” Aviation Scholarship recipient!

Meet Christine Clark, of South Plainfield, NJ. She was chosen for the perseverance that carried her from caregiver to cockpit, for proving — despite the doubters and despite financial strain — that she belongs in the sky, and for her commitment to mentoring others along the way. Christine currently holds her Private Pilot Certificate and is working toward her Instrument Rating, with her sights set on becoming a Certified Flight Instructor. She works full-time as a Flight Attendant for a Major Airline, is an Aerospace Education Officer in the Civil Air Patrol, and serves as an Advanced Ground Instructor with the Falcon Flight Academy program. She is also a contributing member of the Ninety-Nines, where she organized the NJ 99’s Fall Student Pilot Forum to promote women in aviation.

Scholarship programs are a cornerstone of The Ninety-Nines Inc. (est. 1929) to promote aviation, education and career opportunities for women locally and around the world through financial support, mentorship, and networking.

The Austin Hill Country Chapter’s “Spirit of the WASP” Aviation Scholarship is named in honor of the Women Air Force Service Pilots (WASP) who courageously answered their nation’s call, proved their place in the skies, and were nearly forgotten. This scholarship recognizes their service and sacrifice, inspiring the next generation of female pilots to carry forward their legacy of excellence and aviation.

Christine, our chapter is excited to be here to help you climb higher!
