We are thrilled to announce our 2026 “Spirit of the WASP” Aviation Scholarship recipient!
Meet Christine Clark, of South Plainfield, NJ. She was chosen for the perseverance that carried her from caregiver to cockpit, for proving — despite the doubters and despite financial strain — that she belongs in the sky, and for her commitment to mentoring others along the way. Christine currently holds her Private Pilot Certificate and is working toward her Instrument Rating, with her sights set on becoming a Certified Flight Instructor. She works full-time as a Flight Attendant for a Major Airline, is an Aerospace Education Officer in the Civil Air Patrol, and serves as an Advanced Ground Instructor with the Falcon Flight Academy program. She is also a contributing member of the Ninety-Nines, where she organized the NJ 99’s Fall Student Pilot Forum to promote women in aviation.
Scholarship programs are a cornerstone of The Ninety-Nines Inc. (est. 1929) to promote aviation, education and career opportunities for women locally and around the world through financial support, mentorship, and networking.
The Austin Hill Country Chapter’s “Spirit of the WASP” Aviation Scholarship is named in honor of the Women Air Force Service Pilots (WASP) who courageously answered their nation’s call, proved their place in the skies, and were nearly forgotten. This scholarship recognizes their service and sacrifice, inspiring the next generation of female pilots to carry forward their legacy of excellence and aviation.
Christine, our chapter is excited to be here to help you climb higher!
