Bihl Haus Arts, founded in 2005, presents innovative, interdisciplinary programming featuring the work of contemporary visual, literary, and performing artists in the intimate setting of the historic George Bihl house. Located on the grounds of Primrose at Monticello Park Senior Apartments, Bihl Haus Arts is the only professional contemporary art gallery on the premises of 100% affordable senior h

ousing in the U.S. Our mission—Creating Community through the Arts—is founded on the belief that each person, when given a chance, will achieve significant personal, social and cultural growth through the arts. Arts Program in 2007, which provides art and creative writing classed taught by professional artists-teachers to seniors—the “Goldens”—who either reside at Primrose or participate in the program at City-operated senior community centers across San Antonio, at all three WellMed senior centers and at Merced Housing Texas senior residential properties. Bihl Haus Arts also organizes the On and Off Fredericksburg Road Studio Tour, a two-day self-guided art studios tour held annually on the third weekend of February.

Kick off the summer season with a splash of color and a crisp drink! ☀️🍹

Join us on Saturday, June 27th (3 PM - 5 PM) for our Paloma Sunrise Paint & Sip event! We are thrilled to have local artist Juan Miguel Ramos leading this relaxed, beginner-friendly session. You’ll be painting a vibrant San Antonio scene featuring a beautiful paloma in flight against a stunning sunrise skyline. 🕊️🎨

No painting experience? No problem! This afternoon is all about relaxing, socializing, and having fun.

What’s included with your ticket:
🎨 All painting supplies
🍹 Refreshing Cutwater Tequila Palomas (plus other complimentary drink options)
🥨 Light snacks to keep you fueled while you create

Best of all, you’re painting with a purpose. Every ticket purchased directly funds our free art programs for local older adults, veterans, and neurodivergent adults. Help us keep our community programming thriving this summer!

Summer is officially here, and while things naturally get a bit quieter around the gallery, our work to keep the arts vibrant and accessible in San Antonio never stops. ☀️🎨

Between now and August, small non-profits like ours face a significant seasonal financial gap. To keep our doors open and our community programs thriving, we can’t rely on just one big day of giving a year—sustainability takes a village year-round.

We’ve launched our Summer Sustenance & Expansion Initiative with a goal to raise $5,000 to bridge this crucial gap.
