Help Us Give These Three Cats a Fresh Start! 🐾

We currently need help with three very different cats with one common goal: getting them the medical attention they deserve.

We can’t do it without our community's help. Here is who your donations will support:

The Senior: An elderly feral cat who has spent his life outdoors. He’s slowing down, and we need to get him a full exam to determine the best way to support him.

The Graduate: A sweet fellow who is ready to settle down. He needs to be neutered and requires a professional dental cleaning to get his health back on track.

The Freshman: A tiny 3-4 week old kitten. He’s just starting his journey, and we need to fund his upcoming round of kitten vaccines and his future neuter surgery to ensure he grows up healthy and strong.

The Senior and the Freshman are from a large colony cared for by a compassionate 80 year old woman. We are working very hard to TNR all the cats in this colony. We trapped 4 in the last 3 days! We're trying our best to help the caretaker and the cats, but some have greater needs than our budget allows as we anticipate our bills to be around $1000 for these three cats. We greatly appreciate your support in our efforts to give these cats a brighter tomorrow.

Exactly one year ago today we took in Shoyu from City of San Antonio Animal Care Services. We knew he endured significant abuse from a truly evil person, but what we didn’t know what he was also FeLV+.

The last year has seen a remarkable improvement in Shoyu’s trust toward people, and he thankfully has regressive FeLV. However, adoption prospects are not great for kitties with his condition and we feared he would be a forever foster.

Last week we received an email from an amazing young man, Jordan, who was interested in Shoyu and wanted a friend for his current FeLV+ kitty, Ash. Shoyu warmed to Jordan almost immediately, and we we are happy to say that today, on the one year anniversary of the start of his foster care, Shoyu now has a forever family in a home that understands his medical needs, and best yet, will have a FeLV+ bestie he can pass his time with.

Happy forever after, Shoyu. 🧡🧡🧡

World, meet Milton Pennybags!

This sweet baby was part of a TNR sweep by one of our board members… only to realize this little adorable dude is not feral! We’ve had him in quarantine for a bit and unfortunately Milton is now having bloody diarrhea and we need to get him to the vet ASAP to get to the bottom of his icky bottom.

If you can help us give Milton the gift of good health and the chance of a forever home for Christmas, we’d be so grateful for any help with this sweet boy.

We have the best possible news to share - Sweet Purrtato is adopted!!!!

It all started when Erin McCaffery of BOGEY & ROONY CO. reached out to Dr. Matt McGlasson and Sally Williams of Mission Meow to let them know Sweet Purrtato needed a home. Sally was amazing and shared Sweet Purrtato with Missy Pruitt of She’s All Cat and it was love at first sight. Missy has another special needs girl, Bunny, who had her two rear legs amputated, so this is a perfect match. The only hitch? Missy lives in Arizona.

We were working with SWATT Transport to get Sweet Purrtato airborne and to her forever home when a small Christmas miracle happened. Matt Takara, the first vet to see Sweet Purrtato after we pulled her from the city shelter, happened to be driving to Arizona and offered to take her. 🥹

We’ll be doing a big update on this incredible story soon, and working on a little video about Sweet Purrtato’s adoption. Since this is the season of gratitude and thanks, we just couldn’t go a day longer without thanking all these incredible people who made it possible for a special needs rescue kitty to be in her forever home for Christmas. 🧡🧡🧡

We are so excited to share a HUGE announcement- we are officially a rescue partner through Southwest Airlines SWATT Transport 😻😻😻

What does this mean? We have a financially viable way of getting our special babies across the country to that perfect forever family at a minimal cost. We have never strayed from our commitment to those that needed more care, but we could not find ways to alleviate transportation costs. Our reach has expanded, and therefore we can increase the number of special babies we can save.

Thank you, Southwest Animal Transport Team. You are helping us save more of the most vulnerable lives in our community. ❤️‍🩹

On this Thanksgiving, we are beyond thankful to suddenly have a few applications to adopt our wonder duo, Bob and Hammy!! There is one big wrinkle in our adoption dreams for this floofy tuxedo duo - Bob needs a dental with a few extractions.

We saw what a massive difference a dental made for Shoyu, and we want to ensure Bob has the same level of happiness as he goes to his forever home with his bonded sister, Hammy. Any donations you can make will help these sweet babies have a forever home for the holidays. 😻

Shoyu was a good boy today with his dental procedure, a good boy with one VERY bad tooth! Turns out poor baby cracked his back left molar, and the vet saved the tooth for us so we can see how badly cracked it was. No wonder the poor baby was having issues eating and his left eye was watering - a crack that significant was causing him significant pain. Thankfully, other than that, the rest of his teeth are good and now sparkly clean.

For everyone who donated, we want to thank you for giving Shoyu a chance to enjoy his first Thanksgiving in a safe home with a little bit of (unseasoned) holiday turkey. We are passionate about these sweet and sadly overlooked cats of San Antonio, but passion only takes you so far when coming up against significant medical bills. This Thanksgiving, we are thankful for those of you who are the heroes that help us save these sweet souls with your donations.

Shoyu is cranky. And why is Shoyu cranky? He needs a dental and goes to the vet on Tuesday. 😿

When we got Shoyu in March, officially 8 months ago today, we knew he would need a dental but our more pressing concern was the mycoplasmosis that we had to fight for almost 4 months, and then being careful with his stress levels to keep his regressive FeLV from becoming progressive. We still try to ensure Shoyu has the most stress-free environment and lifestyle possible, and we know he sincerely dislikes car rides and vets, but he’s started to have difficulty eating his dry crunchies. We all know Shoyu to be a big thiccums who loves his food, so this is a sign we need to get his teeth some help.

Shoyu will get a cleaning on Tuesday, and likely will have extractions. If you’ve been following the continuing saga of Cornelius and Spot, you’ll know they’re already stressing our budget. As we come upon the holiday season, we’d appreciate if you could help us with Shoyu to give him the ability to happily enjoy some extra treatos for his holidays.

Well, p**p. Literally. Poor Spot and Cornelius are still suffering from the toxic tushies, and sadly, it’s gotten worse, especially for poor Cornelius who has now had some episodes of vomiting.

We have exhausted all standard tests. That means for more intensive testing, which sadly is expensive. Poor Cornelius is also going to need fluids due to the combination of t***y and tummy woes causing him to be dehydrated.

The longterm health and care of our fosters is always top priority, and we need help to ensure Spot and Cornelius get the testing and care they need to finally make them healthy, and thereby adoptable. If you can please donate to Spot and Cornelius, we’d be deeply grateful for the help to get them the diagnostics they so badly need.

Something stinks here, but we can't tell what's worse, the litter boxes Spot and Cornelius have been using, or the price to do a GI panel and f***l PCR test to see why these two have such heinous a**s issues.

What we do know, both are guilty of terrorist tushies and the normal tests and medications have not helped. To get to the bottom of their stinky bottoms, we’re looking at about $550 for testing and who knows how much else for treatment once we unravel the mystery of the malicious litter box.

We’ve flushed so much money on this dynamic doodie duo as it is, but we have to keep going to give them the best lives possible, and make them adoptable (as well as to save their foster mom’s nose!). If you can, any donations greatly help us to wipe up this stinky situation.
