Imagination Library of San Antonio We are bringing Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, an internationally recognized book-gifting program, to San Antonio!

Kids from birth to age 5 can sign-up to receive free books mailed every month to their homes until their 5th birthday. The Imagination Library of San Antonio (ILSA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to increasing literacy, improving educational outcomes, and fostering a love of reading in young children across our community. In 2024, ILSA became a Local Program Partner of Dolly Parton’s Imagination

Library. Our primary mission is to ensure that all young children in San Antonio may participate in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. We aim to support early childhood education and inspire a love of reading that will last a lifetime by providing free, high-quality books to children from birth to age 5.

On Wednesday, June 3, at Forest Hills Branch Library (5245 Ingram Rd, San Antonio, TX 78228) at 1 p.m., we’ll be co-hosting a Baby Story Time with San Antonio Public Library. We’ll read "Play With Me" by Kat Chen and have a pretend picnic.

The event is free and open to the public.

It's National Library Week, celebrating the impact libraries have in transforming lives and strengthening communities.

Here in San Antonio, Imagination Library of San Antonio, a partner of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, is doing just that—providing free monthly books to children ages birth to 5.
