**50 Years of Gratitude**
Fifty years ago, I heard the words no child should ever have to hear: *“You have cancer.”*
I was just a child, but the journey that followed changed my life forever. I endured surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, pain, fear, and challenges that continued long after the cancer was gone. The physical and emotional scars of childhood cancer can last a lifetime.
Today, 50 years later, I am still here. And I am deeply grateful.
I’m grateful for the doctors, nurses, family, friends, and everyone who stood beside me when I was fighting for my life. But most of all, I’m grateful that my experience gives me the opportunity to stand beside children who are walking the same difficult road I once walked.
That is why **The Ferrari Kid** means so much to me.
I know their pain. I know their fear. And I know how important it is for a child to have something to look forward to—to feel special, loved, celebrated, and simply be a kid again.
**Fifty years later, I’m not just surviving my story. I’m using it to give hope to the next generation of childhood cancer warriors.**
