🇺🇸 A Message from Our Auxiliary President 🇺🇸

Hello American Legion Auxiliary Unit 579 family, friends, and supporters!

I realized that since being elected President of our Auxiliary, I never had the opportunity to formally introduce myself here on our page. My name is Stephanie Martinez Sosa, and I am truly honored to serve as President of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 579.

Serving our veterans, military families, children, and community is something that means a great deal to me. I come from a proud military family, and I understand the sacrifices made not only by those who wear the uniform, but also by the families who stand beside them.

As President, one of my goals is to continue building an Auxiliary that is strong, welcoming, active, and united. I want every member to know that their ideas, participation, and willingness to volunteer matter. Whether you are able to give an hour of your time, help with an event, donate to one of our programs, or simply support and encourage our mission—you are an important part of our Auxiliary family.

I am incredibly proud of what our members and volunteers have already accomplished, and I look forward to everything we will continue to do together. From supporting our local schools and children to honoring our veterans, assisting our Post, and serving our community, there is so much we can accomplish when we work together.

I also want our page to be a place where we can share the wonderful things happening within our Auxiliary, recognize our members and volunteers, celebrate our veterans and military families, and keep our community informed about upcoming events and opportunities to get involved.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, volunteered alongside me, and continues to believe in the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary.

I am honored to serve as your President, and I look forward to a wonderful year of service, fellowship, growth, and making a difference together. ❤️🤍💙

SEPTEMBER 5th Fundraiser Event:

Come out and support the Pancakes and Pajamas for Breast Cancer fundraiser, on September 5th.

$10 for adults, all you can eat, kids 10 and under eat free as always.

We will have pancakes, sausage, bacon, orange juice, milk and coffee only.

Invite your friends, family and coworkers to come and enjoy some awesome made to order pancakes.

Wear your PJ's and help us raise funds.! G-rated pajamas only please. Take a picture in front of the pancakes and pajamas banner.

📚❤️ TEAMWORK MAKES A DIFFERENCE! ❤️📚

What an amazing example of what can happen when our American Legion Family 579 comes together for our community!

A huge THANK YOU to our Auxiliary officers, Auxiliary members, our dual member, and all of our wonderful volunteers who gave their time to help sort and organize the school supplies collected for Jerry D. Allen Elementary and Valley Hi Elementary. ✏️📓🖍️🎒

We would also like to give a special shout-out to our 579 Dart League team and volunteers for supporting our school supply drive and bringing in additional supplies for the students. 🎯❤️ Your generosity and willingness to step up and help truly means so much!

These pictures are a wonderful reminder that teamwork goes a long way. When we work together, even the smallest act of kindness can make a BIG difference for our schools, our students, our teachers, and our entire community.

We are so grateful to everyone who donated, volunteered, sorted supplies, and helped make this project possible. This is what service, unity, and community are all about! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

💜 Purple Heart Day – Honoring Our Nation’s Heroes 💜

Yesterday, members of American Legion Post 579 gathered to observe Purple Heart Day, honoring the brave men and women who were wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

A special thank you to Auxiliary Treasurer Laura for presenting the Purple Heart Day brief and reminding us of the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of our nation’s heroes. Her presentation was a meaningful tribute to those who have given so much in defense of our freedoms.

The Purple Heart is more than a medal—it is a symbol of valor, sacrifice, and devotion to our country. As we reflect on its meaning, we honor every Purple Heart recipient, remember those who never returned home, and keep all of our veterans and their families in our thoughts and prayers.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our dual member, Tina Garcia, for volunteering and supporting this important observance. Your dedication and willingness to serve help make American Legion Auxiliary Unit 579 stronger and more resilient. We are grateful to have you as part of our American Legion Family.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in honoring these extraordinary heroes.

🍎📚 Making a Difference, One Student at a Time! 🇺🇸❤️

Yesterday, members of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 579, along with our amazing volunteers, had the privilege of delivering school supplies to Jerry D. Allen Elementary and Valley High Elementary to help students start the new school year prepared for success.

In addition to student supplies, we were honored to provide classroom supplies for teachers to help support them throughout the upcoming school year. We know that educators often give so much of themselves, and we hope these donations help make a positive difference in their classrooms.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported this project. Your generosity and dedication to our community made this possible. Together, we’re investing in our students, supporting our teachers, and helping build a brighter future for the next generation.

We are grateful to the staff at both schools for the warm welcome and the opportunity to serve.
