The Portell Foundation would like to send out a heart felt thank you for all those that attended “Rey Feo in the Garden” on Friday. The event was an amazing success, evident by the smiling faces, the wonderful photos, and beer flowing in the Garten. A special thank you to Rey Feo LXXVII, Reina de la Feria de las Flores, and all of the court in attendance.
The event had some great first moments in the Rey Feo realm.
1. The first time a ceremonial keg was tapped by Rey Feo in full uniform and his crown. Rey Feo Damaso Oliva looked great doing it!
2. The first time ever a Reina de la Feria de las Flores has tapped a ceremonial keg. It was great to watch Karina Aguillon tap the ceremonial keg of root beer.
3. The first ever flag for Rey Feo was debuted with Rey Feo Damaso Oliva’s crest.
We also want to thank our wonderful sponsors, that without their support, this event would have not been possible. Our sponsors are:
1. Gamez Law Firm
2. Sabinal Group
3. AAA Garcia Bail Bonds
We had some special guests in attendance. We would like to thank Johnny Gabriel, his family and Jennifer Barbaro from the Rey Feo Scholarship Foundation and her family for attending this special event for Rey Feo.
Thank you for all those that donated items to the silent auction, all those that bid on the silent auction, to the volunteers that helped man the front desk, Ludwig, and to my friend who I call “Master of Kegs” for helping with the ceremonial kegs.
Thank you to Silver Eagle for the ceremonial keg of Warsteiner and to Alamo Brewing for providing ceremonial kegs.
We are very happy that you all could enjoy the evening with us and all of you that were looking great wearing those beautiful 2026 “Order of Rey Feo” Fiesta medals, which is being sold to raise money for Damaso’s reign for the Rey Feo Scholarship Foundation.
To my lovely wife Linda who helped me enormously while I was out of the city for three days right before the event, thank you!
To my lovely niece Vestiny who was able to make a Portell Foundation event for the very first time in a formal capacity.
¡Viva Fiesta! ¡Viva Oliva!
