Nā Mamo "Cultivating and perpetuating our indigenous heritage, culture, values, and traditions through our future generations." 'Ano'ai me ke aloha!
(1)

We are Nā Mamo, a non-profit organization committed to bringing to light the rich heritage of the Pacific Islander and Indigenous communities across Texas. Nā Mamo means the descendants, and we come from long and beautiful lines of Native cultures. Our mission is to create a platform where these communities can be seen, their stories told, and their cultures celebrated as they are passed on to the

next generation. For the past 40 years, through a series of community events and educational programs, we've aimed to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for the diverse indigenous populations that have been an integral part of Texas’s history for hundreds, and thousands, of years. Join us in our journey to amplify the narratives of the indigenous communities who reside in Texas, as we work towards a future where their contributions are recognized, their traditions are protected, and their cultural footprint remains for generations to come.

-

With a career spanning over five decades, Frank DeLima isn’t just a comedian; he is a cultural institution in the Hawaiian Islands. As Hawaii’s most beloved funnyman, DeLima has mastered the art of capturing the unique, multi-ethnic tapestry of local life with a wit that is as sharp as it is affectionate.

-

The Man of a Thousand Faces
Known for his high-energy performances and iconic costumes, Frank has an uncanny ability to transform into a dizzying array of characters. Whether he’s donning a wig to lampoon local politicians or slipping into his classic “Portugee” persona, his comedy strikes a chord with anyone who calls the islands home.

-

His repertoire includes:
• Musical Parodies: Bitingly funny rewrites of popular hits that address everything from the rising cost of poi to the latest headlines.
• Ethnic Humor: A fearless yet gentle celebration of Hawaii’s diverse cultures—Filipino, Japanese, Chinese, Hawaiian, and Portuguese—bringing people together through shared laughter.
• Improvisational Wit: A legendary ability to work a room, making every audience member feel like they’re part of the family (and occasionally the punchline).

-

A Legacy of Aloha
Beyond the nightclubs and concert halls, Frank’s heart belongs to the community. Through the Frank DeLima Student Works, he has spent decades visiting schools across the state, using humor to deliver vital messages about education, sobriety, and positive choices to Hawaii’s youth.

-

He has been honored with numerous Na Hoku Hanohano Awards for his comedy albums, proving that his brand of “local-style” humor has a timeless appeal that transcends generations.
