We’re launching the YES! Tank Pitch Competition, a Shark Tank–style event where students ages 10–18 pitch bold ideas, compete, and win startup funds + mentorship to bring their ventures to life. 💰💰

Presented by Youth Entrepreneurship Services (Y.E.S.!), this citywide competition empowers young innovators to turn ambition into action, connecting them with real investors, real mentors, and real opportunity.

Who can apply to compete for startup funds?

✅ must be 10 - 18 years old
✅ live in the proximity of San Antonio, Tx
✅ 6th-12th grade

As long as you meet those requirements, this competition is for you or your teen. Y.E.S.! Tank is opened to everyone and anyone.

This past Saturday, we had the honor of hosting three powerhouse entrepreneurs who didn’t just talk about success, they shared with us the storms they lived through to create it.

Veronica Shields learned how to run a McDonald’s at just 13, trained by her father, who was the first African-American McDonald’s owner in San Antonio. After his passing, she took a six-figure pay cut to carry the family legacy, relying on the financial discipline she built early on. Today, she took what her father started and expanded, she owns 15 franchises and leads multiple ventures.

Justin Pace went from door-to-door sales to getting fired from his last job. That breaking point pushed him to start his own business, and in just three years, he scaled Connected Concierge into a multi-million-dollar company.

Margie Johnson immigrated from the Philippines with no English, rose to a $200K federal job, then lost it all two weeks before Christmas. On food stamps with two kids, she borrowed money to fly to San Antonio, pitched her services to the military and just like that, within ten days, secured her first contract. Today, she runs JVM Solutions, a federal contracting multi million dollar powerhouse.

The panel was moderated by our founder, Jacqueline N. Hernandez, who asked powerful, intentional questions that extracted real wisdom, raw truth, and generational gold.
