Green Spaces Alliance of South Texas

09/25/2026

BIG THANKS! After adding up all our gifts, we raised a total of $4,805.85 for the Big Give. Thank you for all your support in keeping South Texas green, our water clean, our land conserved, our air fresh, trees giving us cool shade, community gardens nurturing food and relationships, and nature photography for local youth. YOU have made a difference!

Thank you to the 56 neighbors who gave $3,865 to protect our land, water, native species, trees, community gardens, and keep South Texas green. You are doing great work hand in hand with us at Green Spaces Alliance. We invite you to join us soon for an event, such as one of our first Saturday hikes at Bulverde Oaks Nature Preserve. And thank you for giving big! 💚

30 minutes. $1,185 to go. Forty-eight people giving $25 will finish this, and every one of you reading this knows one of them. Give, then send it to that person. https://loom.ly/Oz46NMM Or text GREENSATX to 844-844-6844.

The Big Give is here.

Every person in this video works for or volunteers with Green Spaces Alliance, and every one of them said yes to standing in front of a phone camera because they believe the land, the water, and the kids of South Texas are worth asking for. Now it is our turn to ask you.

For the next 24 hours, all of San Antonio gives together. Your gift protects farms and ranches over the Edwards Aquifer, plants Tiny Forests in our hottest neighborhoods, grows food in community gardens, and puts a camera in a kid's hands so she can see what is worth saving.

Goal: $5,000 by 5:59 pm Thursday. Gifts start at $5.

Or text GREENSATX to 844-844-6844.

Then share this post. Every share brings one more neighbor into the work.

Jackie Hickman, Environmental Science student at UTSA, is one of Green Spaces Alliance's newest team members. In her first weeks, she has witnessed firsthand the difference that community gardens and tiny forests make in the lives of San Antonio residents.

How do urban green spaces play a role in your life, and what would it mean if you could help your neighbors enjoy more of these natural havens?

The Big Give starts TODAY at 6 PM. Early gifts count right now, and gifts start at $5. Your gift keeps trees, veggies, and flowers thriving in our local communities.

What does your Big Give gift actually do?

It plants trees. It creates Tiny Forests in our hottest neighborhoods. It grows community gardens. It protects wildlife. It gets kids outside with a camera in their hands.

Every gift, starting at $5. Tonight at 6 pm, we begin. https://loom.ly/Oz46NMM

Rachel grew up on San Antonio's West Side. A job right out of high school with a conservation group opened her eyes to nature and gave her access she wouldn't have otherwise.

Now she sits on our board, and she works to make sure kids in the neighborhoods she grew up in get the same thing: Tiny Forests, community gardens, and a green space that meets them where they already are.

"Every green space matters."

The Big Give starts tomorrow at 6 pm. Early gifts count right now, and gifts start at $5. Your gift keeps nature experiences going for young people across this city.
