We are pleased to share that Ivy Zwicker has been named Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Autism Treatment Center.

Ivy has been serving as Interim CEO for the past several months, providing steady leadership and thoughtful guidance during an important time of transition following Anna Hundley’s retirement last fall.

Her dedication to our mission, strong relationships with staff and supporters, and deep commitment to the individuals and families we serve have made a meaningful impact.

In her new role, Ivy will continue leading the Autism Treatment Center with the same compassion, vision, and focus that she has demonstrated throughout her tenure. We are confident in her ability to build on our organization’s strengths and guide us into this next chapter.

Please join us in congratulating Ivy on this well-deserved appointment and in thanking her for her continued service and leadership.

On April 23 & 30 from 9am - 11am H-E-B will have Sensory-Friendly Hours at four locations. Here's all the info 👇

H-E-B's Sensory-Friendly Hours is a pilot program aiming to create a more inclusive environment by reducing environmental stimuli to provide a calmer, low-sensory shopping experience.

Locations: Alon Market H-E-B, DeZavala H-E-B, Guilbeau H-E-B, and Nogalitos H-E-B

What to Expect

Sensory-Friendly Environment: Select locations will reduce background noise such as lowered music, radio and phone ringer volume, and other sensory stimuli to create a calmer, low‑sensory shopping experience for our customers.

Sensory Kits: Select locations will offer fidget spinners and earplugs. These tools support fine‑motor practice, help regulate overstimulation and anxiety, lower noise exposure, and preserve personal energy throughout the shopping experience. While supplies last.

Inclusive Activities: Select locations may feature child-friendly activities designed to remove fine-motor and sensory barriers - examples include sensory stations with H-E-B Own Brand products (like beans and rice), non-profit informational tables, and more.

On April 2nd we celebrated World Autism Awareness Day!

World Autism Awareness Day was established by the United Nations in 2007 to highlight the need to raise public awareness of autism. UN.org states: The theme "Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value" highlights and affirms the dignity and worth of all autistic people as part of our shared human future.

To honor the day, ATC staff & residents enjoyed activities in the park, delicious food, custom shirts, fun signs, and lots of smiles! We're so thankful for our community partners from Fossil Group, Alamo Hot Dog Co, Page Dental, and Cornerstone for helping by sponsoring the fun.

As you may know, autism is the most widely diagnosed developmental disability in the nation. The CDC states that the prevalence of autism has increased to now affecting 1 child in 31. ATC has risen to meet the growing need with compassion and commitment, expanding resources and capacity to support the communities we serve. Along the way, we’ve continued to embrace best practices and innovative treatments so more people can access the care and hope they deserve.

You are invited to get to know some of the amazing students and residents living with autism at ATC by reading their stories at www.atcoftexas.org/successstories
