Mission Statement

The ACTS Apostolate enables Catholic parish communities to utilize ACTS Retreats as an evangelization tool that inspires intentional Christ-centered discipleship. ACTS Missions, formed in response to the power of the ACTS retreat in 1997, has helped to establish ACTS in more than 45 dioceses in the US, and in 5 other countries. With offices in the Oblate School of Theology, ACTS

Missions has enjoyed a connection with the school of Theology and numerous contacts for parish Evangelization in various OMI parishes throughout the world. Guided by a board of lay directors and also including Bishops Patrick Zurek of Amarillo and Oscar Cantu of San Antonio and OST President Fr Ron Rolheiser, ACTS Missions has developed educational materials and supporting documentation for the retreats in English and in Spanish. More languages and more countries await the inspiration of the Holy Spirit as ACTS Missions gratefully acknowledges the foundation provided by the parishioners of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in answering the call of the Spirit back in 1987.

May God be present in every moment of the weekend, drawing hearts closer to Christ and renewing each person in faith, hope, and love. We are excited to have our very own Deborah Ann Alaniz, Executive Director of ACTS Missions, as one of the speakers who will address the pillar of Community for the ACTS National Conference!

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Deb has proudly called the city home her entire life. She is a cradle Catholic and Catholic school graduate. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Teaching degrees from Trinity University.

Deb began her journey with ACTS in 2004, where she discovered that she didn’t have to wait to be asked to serve — she could take the initiative to be active in her parish community. Since then, she has been involved in youth ministry, OCIA, and now OCIC.

After many years working in education, Deb now brings her leadership and passion to ACTS Missions. She continues to serve the apostolate, nine years as the Executive Director, previously as a member of the Board of Directors and as a volunteer. She has “learned over the years to thank God for the blessings He gives me, along with the challenges that teach me to love Him, serve Him, and know Him in the ways He needs me to.”

ACTS Missions was on the road again! Last Saturday, we traveled to Fredericksburg, Texas, to provide Teen ACTS Retreat Training. Thank you to everyone who joined us and gave their time to grow and help ensure faithful and fruitful ACTS Retreats for our teens. May God bless you as you continue this important work of bringing young people closer to Christ!

It is an incredible blessing to welcome Bishop Boulette to the ACTS National Conference, where he will share his wisdom and experience as our speaker on the pillar of Adoration.

The Most Reverend Michael J. Boulette has dedicated more than five decades to serving the Church through priestly ministry, spiritual formation, and leadership. In 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of San Antonio, where he served until his retirement in 2025. Today, he continues his role as the Founder and Director of St. Peter Upon the Water: A Center for Spiritual Direction and Formation located in Ingram, Texas.
