We continue our Murals/Artist Jobs Created COUNT UP! Next on deck at #64, thus awesome piece by .

Its not often we do interior walls but this was for a loyal sponsor. Artists in San Antonio are often called to do the same two things:
1. The Skyline 2. The Alamo

Considering that we artists create these same images over and over, at times it can feel stale. Comp did a great job of doing something unique and linear with his design, making this wall feel new and fresh.

ABOUT MIKE “COMP” ARGUELLO
Mike “Comp” Arguello is a full-time artist from San Antonio, Texas known for his incredible talent in photorealism. In his teens and early 20s, he struggled with alcohol and chemical dependency and was in and out of rehabs and treatment centers. Upon being diagnosed with bi-polar depression however, Comp was able to understand his condition and this sparked the positive change in his newfound life. As part of his personal mission, he now strives to serve as an example for those who may also struggle with chemical dependency and mental disorders as he maintains a very active career as a painter and muralist.

Coming in at #61 and #62, the landmark pillars at the Pearl. We were honored to be chosen to design and complete this legacy project for locals, tourists and many generations to come. As the main entrance way to the , patrons now experience the story and history of The Pearl, from its past on one side of the entrance way, to the present on the other side. The team to pull this off was small but mighty working day in and day out for two weeks. Join us in celebrating artists:   |  |  & of  |
and the ability to pay artists for work like this. 👍 Thanks you Pearl.

Community, we heard you LOUD and CLEAR! You love our space you love 3RD FRODAY ARTWALK, but our sidewalks were jacked. We attended our D2 Budget Meeting and told Public Works about our troubles as a community. Happy to say that Public Works visited us and saw the problems. They sent in a request for funding, and the project was approved (thank you councilman Mckee-Rodriguez and team).

We are now so excited to say that the city is redoing our sidewalks and street so that you can have a safer environment when shopping with us and attending 3RD FRIDAY ARTWALK every month.

That being said, its loud and dusty so our team will be working remotely for a little while. The Dope Gear Shop will be closed for a moment while construction 🚧 is active. Once its safe to return, we will let you know. Then we can go back to shopping, and art gallery enjoying, and all the other awesome stuff we usually do inside our space.

Thanks for your patience and improvements are made.

Sincerely
Burgundy & Shek & Steven

Next up, #60 on our artist jobs created count up, ashley Dreyfus. We were so excited to host the amazing national artist Ashley Dreyfus of .art. Ashley visited us from Boise, Idaho as the official can contest winner! Ashley’s artwork was featured on 30 million cans across the US and she chose to accept our invite, with the help of our pals at Pabst Blue Ribbon, to network with our artists and paint along side us during Phase IV of The LARGEST OUTDOOR GALLERY IN TEXAS MURAL FESTIVAL. Awesome day!
