Fechas de inscripción para el programa extra escolar de Greater San Antonio After-School All-Stars para el ano 2023-24 son los siguiente:

Lunes, 24 de julio en la escuela primaria de Schenck, martes, 25 de julio en las escuelas primarias de Briscoe y Washington, miércoles, 26 de julio en la escuela primaria de Wilson y jueves, 27 de julio en la escuela primaria de Highland Park. La inscripción será de 3:00 pm a 6:00 pm cada día.
(Puede registrar a su hijo en el sitio más conveniente para usted).

Para recibir las materia necesaria para inscribir a su nino en el progama por favor de llamar a nuestra oficina al numero de telefono 210-229-7827.

Registration dates for The Greater San Antonio After- School All-Stars after-school program will be held as follows:

Monday, July 24 @ Schenck ES, Tuesday, July 25 @ Briscoe and Washington ES, Wednesday, July 26 @ Wilson ES and Thursday, July 27 @ Highland Park ES.
Registration will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm each day.
(You may register your child at a site most convenient for you).

NOTICE TO THE EDGEWOOD ISD COMMUNITY: Greater San Antonio After-School All-Stars, a 501(C) (3) nonprofit, is applying for a 21st Century Community Learning Center, Cycle 12 grant from the Texas Education Agency in partnership with the Edgewood Independent School District for Brentwood MS, Cisneros ES, Gardendale ES, Gonzalez ES, Johnson ES, Las Palmas ES, Loma Park ES, Roosevelt ES, Stafford ES and Winston ES.

In the spirit of the season, the Greater San Antonio After-School All-Stars conducted an office toy drive. All staff members were asked to contribute toys which would be donated to the SAPD Blue Santa Toy Drive. Thanks to everyone’s unselfishness, the toy drive turned out to be a very successful endeavor. Five big boxes of toys were donated to the Blue Santa Program. Representatives from the San Antonio Police Department picked up the toys which will be given to underprivileged children throughout the San Antonio area.

In the spirit of the season, the Greater San Antonio After-School All-Stars office staff conducted an office toy drive. Thanks to everyone's efforts it was a very successful endeavor. Five big boxes full of toys were donated to the SAPD Blue Santa Toy Drive. A very special thanks to everyone. Representatives from the San Antonio Police Department picked up the toys which will be given out to underprivileged children in the San Antonio area.

The After-School All-Stars are looking for a few good people that are interested in working with students in the Edgewood and San Antonio ISD after-school programs. This year non-district employees will earn $12.50 per hour, district employees $13.00 per hour and Certified teachers will earn $15.00 per hour.

Employees work in a safe school environment and our programs follow the same calendar as the school district so if you have school age children more that likely you will be off when they are off.

You can make a difference in some children's lives and get paid for doing it as well.

Registration for the Greater San Antonio After-School All-Stars after school program for the 2022-23 school year will be held on Tuesday, May 31 and Wednesday, June 1 from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm on both days. The program serves students in grades K-8. Students in K must be at 5 yrs. old prior to Sept. 1 of the school year.

Proof of Income is required (Form 1040 or Current Verification Letter if receiving federal assistance). Program fees are based on household Income and number of family members in the household.

Fee schedules for the 2022-23 school year, program applications and other information can be obtained from the after-school program staff at your child's school beginning tomorrow , Thursday, May 26 during the after-school program hours.

On behalf of the Greater San Antonio After-School All-Stars Staff, Jane Macon, our board president and our board members, we would like to wish Carol Burnett a Very Happy 89th Birthday. We are truly blessed to have our main office at the American Sunrise-Carol Burnett Center.
Our office building was acquired from Bill Miller BBQ several years ago by Henry and Mary Alice Cisneros because of it's historical significance. Henry and Mary Alice were approached by Bill Miller in reference to having the building donated to them (although it was not actually free, since Henry indicates it cost them $130,00 to move it to its present location). According to Mary Alice, the building was significant because it was the home of Carol Burnett's grandmother and as a young girl Carol Burnett enjoyed many a summer visiting her grandmother in San Antonio.
After the building was moved and renovated, Carol Burnett was invited and actually attended the dedication ceremony of the American Sunrise-Carol Burnett Center. Three years ago, Henry and Mary Alice offered the building to the Greater San Antonio After-School All-Stars to use as our main office It is a very spacious and colorful building; it's centrally located and has proved a prime spot for us. We are truly grateful to Mary Alice and Henry for their continued generosity and their support as board members throughout the years.

A very special Thank You to the Riverside Park Elementary School Choir, the Sam Houston High School Steel Drum Group and the Burbank High School Mariachis for their performances at the After-School All-Stars Annual Celebration on April 12 at the Briscoe Western Museum of Art. A special Thanks also goes out to their sponsors and the school principals for allowing them the opportunity to showcase their talents. Always impressive to see such talent in our schools. All did SAISD proud!
