The Center For Health Care Services Foundation, formerly known as The National Center for Behavioral Health Solutions, is designated as a 501 c 3, is dedicated to se

curing substantial financial resources that advance the capital, clinical, educational and service delivery goals of The Center for Health Care Services (CHCS). The Center for Health Care Services first opened its doors in 1966 and now serves as the mental health authority for Bexar County providing treatment programs for mental illness, substance use disorders and intellectual and developmental disabilities. CHCS has developed an innovative and highly integrated system of care for people in the San Antonio community who struggle with mental health disorders and substance abuse. Utilizing strong community partnerships and diverse funding sources, CHCS programs have created an effective public safety net that helps diverts patients from emergency rooms, jails and prisons while linking them to treatment programs that help them lead independent, productive lives. This year alone, CHCS will serve nearly 40,000 Bexar County residents and provide almost 800,000 mental and behavioral health services to women, children and men.

Juneteenth is a day worth pausing for. A moment to honor Black American history, celebrate freedom, and acknowledge how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go.

The Center Foundation is proud to support a community where everyone belongs and everyone can access the care they deserve.

Shoutout to Karen, our Mental Health Awareness Training Program Manager, and Meghan, our Mental Health Awareness Coordinator, for leading a recent Youth Mental Health First Aid training!

We’re proud to have worked with UT Teen Health Staff and Interns, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and UT Health San Antonio to help more people recognize and respond to mental health challenges in young people.

The more our community knows, the better we can show up for each other.

πŸ’™ You may never know the moment your training matters.
It could be a quiet coworker. A neighbor who stops showing up. Someone in your life who is struggling in silence and needs you to know how to respond.
Mental Health First Aid helps everyday people recognize, understand, and respond to the signs of a mental health or substance use challenge. It does not take a degree to make a difference. It takes awareness, compassion, and the right tools.

We are raising $10,000 to bring that training to San Antonio and the surrounding areas. Your gift creates a ripple effect far beyond the classroom, building a more prepared and more compassionate Bexar County.

Donate today. Help make sure no one in San Antonio faces a mental health crisis alone: https://vist.ly/55xmc

πŸ’™ 14,510 people trained. 85 organizations and school districts served. And we are just getting started.

To every partner organization and school district that has trusted The Center Foundation to train their staff in Mental Health First Aid: this impact belongs to you, too.

Because you opened your doors, thousands of teachers, administrators, first responders, and community members across San Antonio now have the skills to recognize a mental health crisis and respond before it escalates.

That ripple effect does not stop in the classroom or the workplace. It spreads into homes, neighborhoods, and communities across Bexar County.

But to keep this momentum going, we need your help. Donate today and help us train even more: https://vist.ly/55u5b

🚨 When someone is in crisis, the first person they turn to might not be a therapist.

It might be a teacher. An EMS worker. A police officer. A neighbor.

Mental Health First Aid gives those everyday people the tools to recognize when someone is struggling, respond with care, and connect them to help before it is too late.

But right now, funding has run out. That means we can no longer offer MHFA training at no cost to the San Antonio community members who need it most.

Teachers. EMS. Police. Community leaders. The people who are first on the scene and first to notice the warning signs.
This is where you come in.

Help us reach our $10,000 goal and keep Mental Health First Aid training accessible to everyone in San Antonio. Donate today: https://vist.ly/55mv9

🌟 Texas has some incredible Mental Health First Aid trainers. And Karen Coleman is at the top.

Nationally recognized and ranked 3rd in all of Texas for Mental Health First Aid, Karen was also named a top instructor in 2026 for blended learning. She is not just teaching a curriculum. She is building a movement.

But to reach more Texans, she needs your support.

Your donation helps Karen train more community members, first responders, and everyday people across Bexar County and beyond with the skills to recognize a mental health crisis and respond with confidence.

Do not let funding be the reason someone goes untrained. Donate today: https://vist.ly/55hjh

🚨 The numbers are hard to ignore.

Su***de is the 2nd leading cause of death for people ages 10 to 24. 1 in 5 U.S. adults experiences mental illness. And 40% of people have no idea how to help a loved one who is struggling.

These are not just statistics. They are our neighbors, our coworkers, our kids.

Mental Health First Aid gives everyday people the skills to recognize a crisis and respond before it is too late. It tears down stigma and builds the confidence to act.

The time to act is now. Support MHFA in Bexar County today: https://vist.ly/55ebr
