In 2025 the San Antonio Symphony League will be celebrating 75 years of supporting live classical music and music education in San Antonio. Our mission is to "preserve, advance, and cultivate classical music by supporting and promoting live performances, providing financial assistance and service, and supporting and creating educational efforts/programs of nonprofit classical music organizations in Bexar County."
This past year we continued that mission with financial support totaling over $150,000 to
The San Antonio Philharmonic, Agarita, Children’s Chorus of San Antonio, First Baptist Church of San Antonio Fine Arts Alive, Olmos Ensemble, San Antonio Chamber Choir, San Antonio Chamber Music Society, SOLI Chamber Ensemble, and Cactus Pear Music Festival. We held our 53rd Annual Symphony Belle Ball on March 22, 2024, and our 54th Annual Symphony Belle Ball will be March 29, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort. Our 50th Annual Paint to Music Contest was a huge success; our winners’ art was displayed in an artpace gallery, where we also held a reception for the student winners and their families. You can view the winning art on our website (see URL below).
We now have a new and exciting website: https://www.symphonyleaguesa.org/ . You can go to the website to pay membership dues and Belle fees, make donations, etc. online with no cost to you or to the League. Please go to the “JOIN US” tab and use the fillable forms (Membership Form, Belle Information Form [if applicable], Volunteer Form, and Belle Program Fee Payment [if applicable]) to submit your membership for this year. When you check out with the Membership and Belle Program Fee Payment forms, you will see that the form includes a request to include a donation to support use of the payment platform. You may use the dropdown box to choose any donation amount or zero. Note: September 30, 2024, is the deadline for dues payment if you would like to be included in the SASL directory.
We have also started an exciting new education project: Let Music Live Again! You may donate usable instruments to the League, and we will give these instruments to local schools to expand and enhance their music programs. Visit https://symphonyleaguesa.org/donate-instruments for details.
Together we can make a difference for live classical and symphonic music in San Antonio and for the education of our young people! Please join the San Antonio Symphony League to keep this music alive in our community for generations to come!
