In honor of the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the United States of America, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will consecrate the nation (USA) to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 11, 2026.
All Catholics in the US are encouraged to participate by praying a novena to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus from June 3 to June 11, 2026. The novena prayers can be found here: https://www.usccb.org/novena-sacred-heart-jesus
Sacred Heart of Jesus Novena
In order to promote the renewal of our great nation in the eternal principles of our founding*, as well as to promote a good and holy love of God and Country, I would like to encourage all to join the USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) campaign to offer 250 hours of prayer and 250 works of mercy for our country as we approach the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th.
More information can be found here https://www.usccb.org/250-hours-adoration and here https://www.usccb.org/250-works-mercy
Examples of works of mercy may include:
-Caring for the sick or elderly
-Preparing food for others
-Visiting or assisting those in need
-Volunteering your time in service
Hospital employees and others in caregiving professions may also offer up their work shifts as works of mercy.
