“Scouting taught me how to be a father.”

These words were shared tonight by Justin Buckner’s father, who also served as his Scoutmaster, during a dinner celebrating Justin as the fall Wood Badge Course Director.

The theme of his course is “One Ripple, Lasting Change.”

Justin reflected on how joining Cub Scouts over 30 years ago shaped the path of his life, influencing decisions that led him to football, college, teaching, fatherhood, and eventually becoming a Scoutmaster himself.

We don’t always see the impact we have as Scout leaders. One experience, one conversation, or one encouraging word can create ripples that last for generations.

We’re so excited to celebrate two of our own leaders, Mr. Bryant and Mr. Trejo, as they begin their Wood Badge journey tomorrow! Can’t wait to see the impact they make!

Wood Badge Leadership in Action!

A huge thank you to Assistant Scoutmaster Mr. Fee on completing one of his Wood Badge ticket items!

For his project, Mr. Fee organized and led a team of Scouts and adult volunteers to transform our Scout resource room. Together, they built new shelving and organized uniforms, camping gear, flags, program supplies, and other resources; creating a much more functional space that will serve our Scouts and leaders for years to come.

Woodbadge training develops leadership skills and encourages participants to put them into action, bring people together, and make their units better.
