Since 2023, almost 1,000 area K-12 students have directly benefited from the Kelly Heritage Foundation’s support of innovative educational programs.

New gifts totaling nearly $100,000 to aerospace and space science programs broaden the Port-affiliated nonprofit’s impact as it continues to connect area youth to exciting learning experiences in the region’s advanced industries.

Thanks to two gifts totaling $315,000, longtime Port educational partner WEX Foundation will connect middle and high school students from across San Antonio with its three-year Lunar Caves Analog Test Sites (LCATS Program). The seeds planted not that long ago by our Kelly Heritage Foundation and our partner Dee Howard Foundation continue to bear fruit by inspiring young people and transforming lives. Last night, bright students from throughout San Antonio gathered at Capital Factory - located inside Boeing Center at Tech Port - to share their STEM innovations with community members. Enrolled in a variety of exciting programs made possible by the Kelly Heritage Foundation, the students showcased the knowledge and skills they have acquired in areas such as computer building, drone technology, robotics and space science.

We’re very proud to call Siddhi Raut a partner in Building Futures. Our good friend, a high school senior, never ceases to impress. The seeds for her passion and determination for an eventual career in the leading edge of space science were sowed by our nonprofit partners The WEX Foundation and San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology when she was still in middle school.

Ever since, Siddhi has worked tirelessly to encourage her peers to dream big, set their sights on life-changing futures as the next generation of tech innovation talent and—very importantly—to become aware of the many resources right here in San Antonio eager to connect and prepare young people like her with the futures they envision for themselves.
