Alamo Metro Chorus had a great month of May. Not only did we celebrate Gerry Schmoker's birthday but several other members had birthdays in May as well. A few are pictured here!! The last week of May we were also thrilled to have Ronda Perez, our Associate Director, with us for the evening, directing her favorite, Go The Distance.

Alamo Metro Chorus had a wonderful installation banquet the last week of April. Lots of awards, door prizes, and of course, the installation of our new Management Team. The food was great and the friendships and camaraderie even better!!

Alamo Metro Chorus surprised our eldest member this past Thursday Night with a birthday celebration!! Gerry Schmoker had a great birthday surprise with balloons and cupcakes!!

Alamo Metro Chorus's April Woman of Note, Holly Janda, has chosen Chriselda Martinez as the May Woman of Note!! Chriselda is a new member and has jumped right in doing lots of marketing and fundraising and finding performance opportunities. A well-deserved award!!!

2026 Region 10 Contest Performance

Alamo Metro Chorus along with Interim Director Holly Janda are thrilled to announce we won the Great Gulf Coast Region 10 Sweet Adelines overall Chorus Contest this past weekend with a score of 646, a significant improvement over our recent International score. In addition we are the Mid Size Chorus Winner. AND all 3 of our quartets placed in the top 5. OBVIOUSLY - 5th, HOT NOTE - 2nd, and ESSENCE is the new Region 10 Quartet Champion!!

Alamo Metro Chorus celebrated National Quartet Day by singing and participating in Spring Sing, in Austin Texas, along with several other Barbershop Groups and a few amazing non barbershop a capella groups as well! The highlight? All the Sweet Adelines present singing How We Sang Today on a very tiny stage then we added all the BHS members on that tiny stage and sang Keep The Whole World Singing!
