Their dream of building the most progressive, flexible, and innovative cat registry in the world came true when TICA was formed. TICA is the world's largest genetic registry of pedigreed cats, and the world's largest registry of household pets. We are the first feline registry with a Genetics Committee that must first approve every new breed, color and pattern. We recognize 73 breeds and more new breeds than other cat fancy associations. 🐾 Meet a little bundle of Japanese luck! 😻

You know the maneki-neko — the "lucky cat" with one paw raised, waving good fortune into homes and shops all over the world. 🏮 Well, many believe its spirit lives on in the Japanese Bobtail, with that signature pom-pom tail and those bright, knowing eyes. 🥰

And this little charmer certainly brought the luck — taking home Second Best Kitten at TICA cat show in Gray Summit! 🏆 A tiny good-luck charm come to life. ✨

🎉 Purina, you absolute legends — THANK YOU! 🎉

What a show! Once again, Purina opened the doors of the Gray Summit Event Center and welcomed TICA in style, and wow, did our cats feel like royalty. 👑🐾 There's just something about this place — the energy, the space, the people who make it all possible. Every time we come back, it feels a little more like home.

To our friends at Purina: thank you for giving us such a beautiful home for our show. Partnering with you isn't just good business, it's genuinely good fun. Here's to many more events together! 💜

Do you know what the TICA Annual Show is? It's the grand finale of our season — the moment when a full year of showing, judging, and chasing points all comes together. The TICA season runs from May 1st to April 30th, and once it wraps, the very best cats from around the world are invited to celebrate together at the Annual Show, alongside our International Award Ceremony honoring the most beautiful cats of the year.

This year, that celebration took us to Toronto, Canada — and what an incredible way to close out the season! The atmosphere, the energy, the cats — everything was just amazing.

🐾 This is who we are. This is what TICA is all about. ❤️

At our recent show in Reno, we were so proud to welcome the Orphan Kitten Rescue Group from California — and what happened over those two days truly captured the heart of the cat fancy. 😻

By the end of the very first day, 9 cats had already found their new families — and by the time the show wrapped, that number had grown to an incredible 15 cats adopted in total! 🏡✨

Because TICA has always been about more than pedigrees and titles. Yes, we bring cat lovers together from around the world, and yes, we share the very best knowledge about our feline friends — but we're also here to champion cat adoption and celebrate every cat, pedigreed and household pet alike. 🐱

Moments like these remind us exactly why we do what we do. A huge thank you to the Orphan Kitten Rescue Group for their incredible work, and to everyone who opened their hearts (and homes) in Reno. 💛

Please join us in welcoming Donna Maddox as TICA's new Chief Operating Officer! 🐾

Many of you already know Donna from her service as Great Lakes Regional Director and as a member of TICA's Board of Directors, where she has represented members and clubs across the U.S. Midwest and central Canada.

Donna has spent years in the show hall as an exhibitor, breeder, and show manager. As a breeder of award-winning Abyssinians under her Pierremont cattery. She has long championed health testing, well-socialized cats, and responsible breeding. As a show manager, she has organized dozens of TICA shows with clubs across multiple regions, so she knows firsthand what it takes to make our events run well.

Beyond the show hall, Donna brings more than three decades of executive leadership from the healthcare industry, including engagement across multiple countries in Asia, Europe and North America. Most recently she was an Executive Director of Product Management at athenahealth, with earlier leadership roles at General Electric (GE)Healthcare and BJC Healthcare. Her career has centered on translating strategy into results at scale — managing complex, multi-million-dollar portfolios, driving key partnerships, and leading teams through significant organizational change. That same operational rigor, paired with her deep roots in our TICA community, is exactly what she'll bring to TICA.

Donna is also a strong advocate for mentorship and for bringing new breeders and exhibitors into the TICA family. That people-first approach is exactly what we value.
