Spare Parts inspires and supports the growing San Antonio creative community and our PreK-12 schools through environmental accountability. Spare Parts believes partnerships/programs centered on creative reuse practice builds smart, lasting and win/win initiatives. This will increase the creative and cultural energy of our city and beyond. As a result, Spare Parts reduces landfill tonnage.

We've got a little this and that.

🤔 We often get very specific inventory questions and unfortunately, because of the ever changing nature of what we offer, we cannot provide reliable answers. Either our team members that respond to online inquiries are not on site at the Center to check, or if we are able to stop our regular tasks to check for something, it could be scooped up just minutes later. It's best to just swing by if possible. We have fresh items hitting the floor every day we are open. 🫶

We saw many characters at San Japan Event this weekend at our cosplay repair room!! Abby's Attic Sewing School was there to help us out too! We mostly used pre-loved materials from our Center for Creative Reuse to help hundreds of convention attendees mend their costumes, props, and more. Did we help you out this weekend? ✨ Rare item alert ✨ We received this vintage (1960s) Brother knitting machine from Japan. It's a beautiful mint green and comes with a case for the KH 551 machine. It also comes with the KR 551 add-on and several accessories. User guide can be found online. She's gonna need some extra tinkering and cleaning before fully functional. Swing by our Annex to take a look. 👀

What an incredible summer season we've had at Spare Parts. July 2026 was the busiest month we've had in the history of the Center! 😱 Thank you to all our material donors, patrons, teachers, volunteers, interns, friends, and staff. Because of you, we are able to make a greater impact year over year.🙏

People often ask, how often do we restock the sales floor at the Center for Creative Reuse? The answer is, every day we are open! You can actually go through "fresh to the floor" items as they come from the Annex to the Center. They will be housed in these boxes right by the front door. Come check out what's new.
