EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS, AND EVERY PRAYER MATTERS!

I bet you were just sitting around wondering, "What could I give CJ for his birthday that would make a lasting impact on God's creation?" Well, search no further. I've picked out the perfect gift. For those of you following my page, you know that Christian Veterinary Mission has significantly impacted my life and faith.
This year, I will participate in two different trips. The first trip will take me to Southeast Asia, where I will work on a 20-acre drug rehabilitation facility. During my two weeks there, I will spend half the day ministering to residents about how God's strength can help them overcome addiction. The other half will be spent teaching husbandry and livestock skills. Addiction has plagued my family for generations, including myself, so this mission is very personal to me. This trip is also special because it could lead to a long-term fieldwork position in the future, something I am very interested in pursuing if it is in His plan.
The second trip will be a return to the island of St. Croix, where my journey with this mission began. Unfortunately, the beautiful people of this island still desperately need equine and other large animal care for their beloved horses, goats, sheep etc… There are no vets on island and worse yet the USVI Department of Agriculture doesn’t even have a Veterinarian on staff. St. Croix remains one of the poorest parts of the United States, with a murder rate higher than that of any nation in the world.
So, what am I asking for?
1. Prayers. Lots of them, as I embark on this journey at the crossroads of faith and vocation.
2. Emotional Support. This is very exciting but also terrifying, and I cannot do it without the emotional support of friends and family.
3. Financial Support. The cost of these trips will be over $4,000. As a Vet Assistant, I don't make a lot of money. I am donating my time and vacations to this cause and will chip in every extra penny I have, but I can't do it without the financial support of my friends and family.

I hope this message finds you well. I just wanted to catch up and share some exciting news with you. I'm currently halfway through Veterinary Nursing School at Purdue University in Indiana. It's been quite the journey so far, with lots of academic challenges and opportunities to live out my faith.
Speaking of opportunities, I have something really exciting coming up! Next month, I'll be going on a short-term mission trip to the United States Virgin Islands with Christian Veterinary Mission (CVM.org). 10 veterinary professionals, including myself, will be joining Dr. Tara Zentner on a field project in St. Croix. I can't wait to share the love of Christ through veterinary medicine in this beautiful but impoverished area. 50% of children on St Croix grow up in poverty, and they have a higher homicide rate than any nation in the world! They also really need affordable pet care, and there's not even a horse vet on the whole island (that is where we come in)!
I'll be immersing myself in a new culture and living in pretty basic conditions, so I'd really appreciate your prayers for a successful outreach. It's going to be an adventure, and I believe that prayer is such an important part of making it all work. If you feel led to support me in prayer or financially, let me know. The entire cost of the trip is $2100 including accommodations, meals, and airfare.

Animal lovers, rescuers, anyone interested in the No Kill Movement! Awesome read and FREE this weekend only!!! -CJ

One of the primary goals of our recently released book, Friendly Fire, is to expose the fallacy which our nation’s large animal protection groups have perpetuated for decades: the myth that our nation’s shelters are a network of compassionate safe havens for homeless animals. As the movement to end ...

**Foster found! DONATIONS STILL DESPERATELY NEEDED TO COVER HIS SURGERY!!!**

From Gobble:
Yo, I have a buddy who needs your help. He is in almost the same spot I was in. SAPA! saved me, I am hoping this community can do the same for him. His tail has been skinned and his back leg is crushed. Both must be amputated in order to save his life... I had both removed and it may sound a little vain, but I am one of the most awesome kittens ever... CJ and Sherry tell me so every day...

Wobble is a 5-6 mo. old male tuxedo kitten. Unbelievably wicked awesome. He may be almost as cool as me someday...

If you can help save Wobble's life by donating and/or fostering him SAPA needs your help desperately. It takes a village, and no donation is too small. To donate please click on the following link- http://passsapa.chipin.com/wobble

To foster please email my Pops CJ directly at [email protected].

Thank you and PLEASE SHARE!!!!!

Sincerely,
Gobble Gelisse-Pfau

Ok everyone! As of today we are very low on our science diet canned kitten food and our supply of non scoopable cat litter. If anyone can donate some please do! And you can come by and volunteer as well! If we get a lot of volunteer hours we can now use them to qualify for grants! That way we can improve our faciltiy for the animals and also help to make san antonio a no kill city!

URGENT NEED HERE SA! WE CAN ONLY MAKE SAN ANTONIO A NO KILL CITY WITH YOUR HELP!!!

I apologise for the late evening plea. San Antonio Pets Alive! is in critical need of fosters ASAP. Once again we have tons of pups and kittens of all shapes and sizes. We have many more than we can hold right now, and countless more about to hit the EBI list tomorrow - not counting God knows what will be coming in through the front door and off the trucks this weekend. We have 7 sets of moms with nursing puppies. Not only do they take up space we could use for several other dogs or pups, but most importantly these guys are so much more likely to thrive, and their odds of survival are so exponentially increased in a healthier environment, it is by far the best option to foster than keep in the kennels. We have at least 50 more kittens than we are allowed to keep on site at ACS. We are being as creative as we can to ensure none are unnecessarily released but we really could use some help. Kittens are from 1 day old to 5 wks old, baby bottle, gruel, ringworm, uri, mange, and some amazingly healthy. We also have a few mamas with nursing kittens, same story as the mama/puppies. SAPA will provide any needed medicine for fosters needing treatment. If anyone is able to foster/rescue/adopt please fill out the foster application at https://creator.zoho.com/sapawebmaster/sapetsalive/ :Foster_Application or via our website sanantoniopetsalive.org. Then you can come straight over to the new SAPA building (Building 1) at ACS- 4710 TX Hwy 151 and choose a new friend or friends and help us save lives. We can not pull ANYTHING tomorrow without moving a bunch of animals first. Anything you can do is greatly appreciated.

We could also use as many hands on site to help clean, walk dogs, vet tech, help PASS with postings and finding rescue, and with baby bottle feedings at ACS and offsite... AND anyone who can help with transport. It is going to be a VERY busy day.

To our fellow friends in rescue, if you could help us in any way to circulate this as far and wide as possible we would really appreciate it. We are in a real bind here and any help we can get is truly appreciated.

All the best, and thanks for everything
CJ
