📣 The Silk Road District Coalition is committed to empowering Silk Road Cultural Heritage District residents by fostering leadership and facilitating access to essential resources. One of our key initiatives is the Community Ambassador Leadership Training (CALT) Program, which aims to develop a network of trained community ambassadors who can act as trusted guides to resources and services, ultimately supporting meaningful employment and economic opportunities.

The CALT Program is designed to identify and train emerging leaders within the Silk Road Cultural Heritage District community, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate local resources and effectively connect their communities to these opportunities. These ambassadors will help bridge gaps in communication, understanding, and access, promoting a culture of trust and collaboration between service providers and community members.

📚 The 2026 Summer CALT Program will meet every Saturday during the month of June 2026 for a total of 16 hours of training sessions followed by monthly meetings for six months. Compensation for the program includes an $1,800.00 stipend and laptop (details provided upon approval to program).

Live in Greater San Antonio Medical Center
English Language Fluency
3 to 13 years post-resettlement living experience in USA

🌱💚We are honored to have the talented and renowned Iranian artist, Mehrnoosh, join us for this year’s Nowruz gathering in San Antonio.

In line with the theme of our event “Cultural Solidarity” and in light of the current state of Iran, Mehrnoosh will share with us poetry and stories from ancient Iran that have survived the wrath of time and kept our beautiful culture and heritage alive.

There is something so grounding about setting the Haft-Seen table. Each item is a silent prayer for the year ahead: rebirth, beauty, health, and patience. As the sun crosses the celestial equator, we’re not just changing a calendar; we’re welcoming a fresh start for the heart.☀️🪻

This year, we are reminded of the sacrifices of our compatriots in Iran…fighting for freedom, democracy, and a brighter future for all. We are reminded of the tens of thousands of innocent people who were killed during the protests in January, we are reminded of the hundreds of innocent lives that have been lost during the war, and the many more who have been wrongfully killed, and executed under the oppression of the regime. We hold close to our hearts, our loved ones in Iran and the memories we once shared in our homeland and pray for a free Iran, where we can all unite as one, regardless of our ethnicities, political views, religious views, and ideologies.
