Our Senior Policy Adviser Dr. Stephanie Mercier recently spoke at The Policy 101 Workshop, held on the campus of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in Ibadan, Nigeria. They are one of the 13 centers of the CGIAR System. The workshop was organized and led by Abiola Afolayan and Olufunke Makinwa, co-founders of the Center for Women's Policy and Agricultural Innovation (CWPAI), along with Alex T. Johnson and Howard University.

Another great week here at Farm Journal Foundation! With the Farm Bill and FY27 Appropriations in motion on Capitol Hill, it was the perfect time to host our Farmer Ambassadors from Pennsylvania and Oklahoma, Luke and Jeff, in D.C. We discussed strengthening U.S. food systems through agriculture research investments and policy avenues to address challenges facing U.S. farmers.

The rice is in! Thank you to LSU AgCenter for donating three varieties: Avant Long, Venus Medium, and Fitzgerald Long Aromatic. The Voice of the Farmer Garden is filling up with so many great crops this season!
