Su***de is the 11th leading cause of death in the United States, making awareness, education, and prevention efforts more important than ever.

This past Saturday, Methodist Healthcare Ministries was proud to support American Foundation for Su***de Prevention's Out of the Darkness San Antonio Walk at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. πŸ’™ Every dollar raised helps advance su***de prevention through research, advocacy and educational programs in schools, workplaces, and communities across Texas.

🏑❀️ We were proud to welcome participants attending a national U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-sponsored housing seminar focused on faith-based partnerships to Methodist Meadows.

The group included attendees from across the country, as well as HUD leadership, state housing officials, and City of San Antonio - Municipal Government representatives, who visited Methodist Meadows to learn how the donation of land adjacent to our Dixon Health & Wellness Clinic has transformed an organizational asset into a lasting investment in health equity and community well-being.

Our partnership with Habitat for Humanity San Antonio is helping create opportunities for families to thrive through safe, stable, and affordable housing.

When complete, Methodist Meadows will provide 35 affordable homes and serve as a powerful example of what can happen when organizations work together to address the root causes of health.

πŸ’—βœ¨ Fitness, fun, and fellowship came together in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Our Recreation & Enrichment (R&E) team recently hosted a Pink Cancer Awareness Glow Baila-thon at the Wesley Health & Wellness Center, bringing community members together for an energizing morning of movement, connection, and celebration.

The event was especially meaningful as some breast cancer survivors joined R&E instructors on the dance floor, inspiring participants with their strength, resilience, and hope. Together, we honored those impacted by breast cancer while promoting the importance of health, wellness, and community support. πŸŽ—οΈπŸ©·

πŸ“–πŸŒŸ Celebrating a wonderful community partnership in Robstown!

Recently, we were proud to celebrate a ribbon-cutting for a new Little Library at Wesley Community Center, made possible through the collaboration of Wesley Community Center, Methodist Healthcare Ministries' Wesley Nurse Yadira Ramos, and Grace United Methodist Church.

Born from a need expressed by local parents, this Little Library will help increase access to books for children and encourage a love of reading, learning, and imagination. It's a simple idea with the power to make a lasting impact on families and the community. ❀️

At Methodist Healthcare Ministries, we believe access to compassionate, high-quality care should never be limited by geography. That's why we're proud to support the opening of Hope Ranch, a new 52-bed inpatient substance use treatment facility in Victoria, Texas, operated by Billy T. Cattan Recovery Outreach, Inc. -BTCRO. πŸ₯

By providing detoxification, residential treatment, and recovery support closer to home, Hope Ranch is helping remove barriers to care for individuals and families across the Crossroads region, especially those who are uninsured, underinsured, or otherwise unable to access treatment. ✨

We're honored to partner in creating new pathways to healing, recovery, and hope, ensuring more Texans have access to the care and support they need to thrive. MHM Chief Financial Officer Alan Kramer joined guests and event speakers to share about the impact of this facility in the community. 🀝

πŸŽ‰ Methodist Healthcare Ministries (MHM) is honored to support the South Texas Promotores Association as it celebrates 20 years of service and impact at its 20th Anniversary Border Conference in South Padre Island!

The conference brings together promotores, community health workers (CHWs) and partners committed to strengthening health education, preventive care and access to community resources for South Texas border communities. ❀️

We’re especially proud that several of our own CHWs, along with Community Council members, had the opportunity to participate. Miguel Lopez, Community Council Coordinator, gave a presentation about MHM and our mission. We were also able to provide several conference registrations, helping expand access to valuable learning, training and connections that participants can bring back to the communities they serve.

πŸ‘ Congratulations to the South Texas Promotores Association on 20 years of empowering CHWs and strengthening communities!
