On the ground in Taiwan, elevating San Antonio’s global reach.
We’re in Taiwan this week as part of a broader Asia mission, joining City of San Antonio - Municipal Government Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones and regional industry partners to engage directly with companies exploring U.S. expansion.
San Antonio has a compelling story, and we’re here to tell it.
Our region is among the fastest growing large metros in the country, with sustained gains in population, job creation, and investment. San Antonio added roughly 524,000 residents over the past decade, with more than 700,000 additional people projected by 2040. That growth is supported by a labor force that expanded by nearly 250,000 over the past decade, alongside regional colleges and universities graduating about 30,000 students annually—giving manufacturing, technology, and life sciences employers confidence they can build and scale teams locally. This same key industries, advanced manufacturing, cyber & IT, and life sciences and healthcare, are all on the rise, with employment expected to grow by approximately 13%, 10%, and 10% respectively over the next five years.
This trip is about translating momentum into investment. We’re engaging with companies making real‑time decisions about where to grow next and making a clear case for San Antonio as a market that offers workforce readiness, infrastructure capacity, and strong regional alignment for long‑term success.
We’re grateful to Mayor Jones for leading the delegation and to Councilwoman Misty Spears for her engagement in strengthening San Antonio’s global relationships. We’re also proud to work alongside partners like Port San Antonio, UTSA - The University of Texas at San Antonio, and BioMedSA—reflecting the coordinated, cross‑sector effort behind this work.
We’ll continue telling the region’s story, building global relationships, and driving opportunities that convert into jobs, investment, and growth for our San Antonio region.
