The Honorable Patrick E. Porter has laid down his Working Tools. The viewing will be at Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, Texas on January 2, 2024, from 4:00pm-8:00pm. The funeral will be held on January 3, 2024, at 10:00am and he will be laid to rest at the Floresville Masonic Cemetary with the Masonic Services under the direction of the Honorable Ron Perry. Please say a prayer for the family of Brother Porter as well as the Brethren who are mourning this loss. Thank you.

The Honorable Jack William Pool laid down his working tools Feb. 12, 2023 almost at the age of 90. Brother Pool was a Past Master of Highland Hills Masonic Lodge No. 1373 AF & AM and a Life Member as well. Brother Pool became a Mason in South Houston Masonic Lodge No. 1295 AF & AM in Houston, Texas and moved his membership to Highland Hill Masonic Lodge where he served as Junior Steward, then Senior Deacon, then Junior Warden, Senior Warden and finally as Worshipful Master in 1979 – 1980. He received his 50 Year Service Award in both Highland Hills Masonic Lodge No. 1373 AF & AM and the Southern Jurisdiction of the Scottish Rite Bodies in San Antonio, Texas.



He Faithfully attended Little League games and choir concerts, and football games cheering on the Marching Band and Dance teams. He even went to Longhorn football games for his daughter’s sake (but he did not cheer for them to win). He attended many cold, rainy, and muddy stock shows and was always a buyer at the auctions. When he retired Jack served as a Lay Minister for the United Methodist Church and Ministered to Inmates in the Prisons to help fallen men know Jesus. He loved singing in the La Vernia United Methodist Church Choir and he loved reading and studying his Bible and leading Bible Studies, which he did while in Assisted Living. Jack adored Mary Alice Chambless from the moment he laid eyes on her. His life was devoted to her and he cared for her throughout her lengthy suffering with Alzheimer’s Disease. Jack loved his children and their friends; he cherished his grandchildren and he was so in awe of his great grandchildren. Jack was a mathematical genius. He was brave and wise and always encouraging. Jack was fun and funny and fabulous. He lived an abundant life.



Brother Pool’s visitation will begin Saturday February 18, 2023 at 9 am at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1701 Austin Hwy., San Antonio, Texas



Funeral Service and celebration of Jack’s life will take place at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1701 Austin Hwy., San Antonio, Texas at 10:30 am in the Chapel.



A Masonic Funeral Service will be conducted afterward under the direction of Highland Hills Masonic Lodge No. 1373 AF & AM by the Honorable Jason West.
