He was going to shoot her.
The man who was supposed to protect her told us that if we didn’t take her, she would be shot.
She came to us with bed sores from sleeping in a urine soaked kennel. She came to us terrified of a blade of grass. She came to us because she needed us. Nobody else was coming for her.
After spending 3 years in and out of a shelter, Macaroon finally thought she had found somewhere safe.
And now… here we are again.
Looking for someone willing to love her enough to stay.
Macaroon has had a rough past, and she’s currently in board & train working through her l anxiety. She’s going to be okay. But getting her there takes time, consistency, patience, and money.
And this girl is worth it.
She respects house rules.
She’s great in the car.
She takes food and treats gently.
She’s polite on leash.
And she would absolutely THRIVE if given daily walks.
She needs a confident, experienced handler who understands how deeply dogs pick up on our emotions.
If you’re anxious, she’ll feel it.
If you’re confident, she can learn to be confident too.
She has lived with other dogs, but she would honestly prefer to be your one-and-only. With the right companion, we can work on a careful integration to set everyone up for success.
She also has a little stranger danger — but it’s simple: respect her space. Let Macaroon approach you when she’s ready, and she’ll decide you’re her best friend.
She isn’t asking for perfection.
She’s asking for someone who understands that sometimes the hardest dogs to love are the ones who have been failed the most.
Her ideal home:
• 1–2 adults
• Calm children 12+
• 0–1 confident, medium-sized adult dog (males tend to be the better match)
• Someone confident and experienced
• A home with outdoor space would be a dream
• A ranch or farm? She would absolutely thrive.
And while we search for that person, we have to keep paying for the time it takes to get her there.
Her boarding, training, nutrition, care, and food will cost more than $1,100 EVERY MONTH.
Her training will focus on:
• Self-regulation
• Separation anxiety
• Minor reactivity
• Confidence building
And we’re investing in her nutrition and overall health, too, by providing cooling, brain-comforting, joint health-promoting meals that will restore her gut-brain axis and give her the best chance at recovery
We cannot do this part without you.
Every donation helps buy Macaroon another day of safety instead of another day of wondering whether someone is going to give up on her.
She has already been failed enough.
Please help us give her the ending she should have had all along.
Donate for Macaroon.

Help us keep her safe while we find her person.
Give this girl another chance. She’s ready to prove you right. ❤️
