Esperanza's work helps individuals and grassroots organizations acquire knowledge and skills so that we can control decisions that affect our day-to-day lives in a way that respects and honors shared goals for a just society. We believe that by having a place with resources available we can come together to facilitate and provoke discussions and interactions among diverse groups of people who beli

eve that together we can bring positive social change to our world and address the inherent interconnection of issues and oppressions across racial, class, sexual orientation, gender, age, health, physical and cultural boundaries.

The April La Voz cover is dedicated to the late, great Jesse Jackson Sr. (1941–2026). As we mourn his passing on February 17, we celebrate a lifetime of relentless pursuit for justice not just in the United States of America but in the world as he campaigned against South African apartheid, advocated for jutice and freedom for Palestinians, and opposed military intervention in Central America.

Inside you will read an article on Cuba: Defending Cuba, Defying Trump By Teresa Gutierrez, HOLA, another by La Voz regular Narcísio Beal: Christian Nationalism Vs. Christian Values and others! Finally a shoutout to San Antonio's own Anel I. Flores for winning the Naccs Tejas Foco 2026 Book Award For Fiction.
