Metis Foundation is a 501©3 nonprofit organization founded to support medical research, especially within the DoD. We were founded by a group of clinicians and researchers who had experienced the difficulties of obtaining extramural grant funding and were passionate about giving researchers the level of responsiveness and excellence they deserve. Metis Foundation supports every part of the researc

h process. We identify funding opportunities and collaborators, develop your budget, submit your proposal, negotiate your award, and administer your grant via purchasing supplies, hiring and maintaining personnel.

Please join us in congratulating Jessica Mendez on her promotion to Senior Program Manager! 🎉

In this role, she will continue leading complex clinical research operations, managing timelines and budgets, supporting investigators, overseeing regulatory and administrative processes, and helping drive concept to ex*****on. Her leadership and dedication to excellence have made a lasting impact across the team.

Through her work supporting the Critical Care, Resuscitation, Airway, Shock, and Hemorrhage (C2RASH) program, she plays an important role in advancing military medical research focused on improving emergency and critical care outcomes for service members and patients in both deployed and civilian settings.

We had a great visit to Navy Portsmouth Medical Center last month. It was nice to spend time with our collaborators and connect in person with fellow Metis team members.

We really enjoyed getting a closer look at the research happening and hearing directly from the teams leading the work. We’re grateful for the invitation and for making the visit such a positive experience. Looking forward to being back soon! 🌟

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Clinical Investigations Department at the Naval Medical Center San Diego for hosting our team at the NMCSD Academic Research Competition and Innovation Day last week.

Today we say goodbye to someone who has been an incredible pillar of our team. After years of dedicated service with our Metis Core Team, Mr. Shiv Lala is moving on to an exciting new chapter as a Data Scientist with our MiCOR program.

It has been a true privilege to work alongside someone of his caliber. Shiv has not only helped shape the direction of our work but also the culture and values that guide our team every day.

As he begins this new journey, we wish him continued success, fulfillment, and happiness in all that lies ahead.
