Carlos and Christine Camarillo faced every parent’s worst nightmare—the loss of their beloved daughter, Victoria, who passed away last July at just 18 years old, only months after being diagnosed with leukemia. She also lived with Williams Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder—but never let it limit her.
Victoria lived a remarkable life full of love, achievement, and advocacy. She was crowned Fiesta Especial Queen, raised over $22,000 for charity, won a gold medal in the Special Olympics, played drums with School of Rock, and represented her school and community with pride and grace. She was a leader, a giver, and a light to everyone who met her.
Though she never had the chance to attend the Tu Casa program at Texas A&M–San Antonio, Victoria had planned to be a part of it. Now, her dream is being carried forward by her parents through the Victoria Christine Camarillo Endowed Scholarship—a $25,000 gift that will help students with disabilities access higher education.
“She always wanted to know what was next,” her father Carlos shared. “With this scholarship, we feel like we’re helping her giving spirit live on.”
Victoria’s legacy continues—not just in memory, but in the opportunities she’s creating for others. 💜
