This week on the Bridging The Gap Radio Talk Show, we're honored to host two remarkable guests: Carlos Guadarrama, a passionate advocate for the homeless, and his fiancée, Marisa Campos, who shares his dedication to supporting those in need.

Guadarrama, a former homeless individual himself, once lived in his car but managed to transform his life. Grateful for the support and guidance he received during his journey, he has raised over $350,000 to aid those experiencing homelessness in his community.
Carlos played a pivotal role in funding Haven for Hope, Texas' largest and newest homeless shelter in San Antonio.

His current endeavor involves a run from San Antonio, TX, to San Juan de Los Lagos in San Juan, TX, aimed at raising funds for culinary arts scholarships for individuals recovering from homelessness. This initiative, dubbed "Smileys Hope," marks Carlos's final fundraising project.

Assisting him in this noble cause is his fiancée, Marisa Campos, who, like Carlos, once experienced homelessness and overcame adversities. Through their shared experiences and faith, they are now dedicated to giving back to those facing similar challenges, exemplifying resilience and compassion.

Please help on my journey to advocate for the homeless to rebuild their lives.

Join us this week on Bridging The Gap Radio Talk Show as we welcome our guest, Dexter Moon - Chief Operations Officer & Cassie Guerrero - Community Engagement Coordinator w/ Project MEND
Since its inception in 1992, Project MEND has been a lifeline for the community's most vulnerable individuals, providing essential medical equipment. Through our efforts, we have empowered thousands of individuals in need to acquire the necessary tools to overcome or better manage their disabilities.

For over three decades, Project MEND has woven a rich tapestry of service within San Antonio. Established in 1992 by Murlin Johnson (1936-2007) and formally incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 1993, Project MEND, also known as the “Medical Equipment Network for those with Disabilities,” has diligently addressed the home medical equipment and assistive technology needs of individuals with disabilities in San Antonio and across Texas.

Project MEND is steadfast in its mission to enhance the quality of life for individuals living with disabilities and illnesses through the refurbishment, reuse, and distribution of medical equipment and other assistive technology.

Driven by the belief that mobility and independence are inherent human rights, Project MEND champions the health and self-sufficiency of individuals facing disabilities or life-altering illnesses. We strive to provide innovative solutions that empower them to surmount obstacles and break down barriers.

Join us this week on Bridging The Gap Radio Talk Show as we welcome our guest, Christine Hines, author & hails from the west side of Chicago, IL, where she spent her formative years as the 11th of 15 children born to Mr. and Mrs. G. Hines. Her educational journey took her through Dorie Miller, Jens Jensen, Hugh Manley, and Kennedy King Community College, all within the bustling city of Chicago.

Post-graduation, Christine ventured into various occupations, with a notable stint in the burgeoning horticulture industry. She witnessed the dawn of floral arrangements in grocery stores and honed her skills at Platz Wholesale Floral Company in Morton Grove, IL, before transitioning to The Crest of Fine Flowers in Winnetka, IL. There, she had the privilege of collaborating with talented designers, including those who crafted floral arrangements for none other than Chicago's beloved Oprah Winfrey. Christine adorned Oprah's studio, home, and farm with her exquisite creations for special occasions, until both Oprah and opportunity beckoned elsewhere.

In response to a calling, Christine journeyed to Chatham, New York, where she lent her expertise to My Sister's Garden Flower Farm, nurturing crops and managing sales for six fruitful years. Eventually, the winds of fate guided her back to Chicago, where divine purpose awaited. In 2011, she felt a divine nudge, leading her to relocate to San Antonio, TX, and find solace and community at The Transformation Place.

Driven by her passion for children and her desire to share the joy of encountering Jesus at a young age, Christine embarked on a literary journey. Initially inspired to pen a single book, her creative spirit blossomed, resulting in the publication of four books to date, each bearing witness to her unwavering faith and boundless imagination.
