The Volunteer Services Council of the San Antonio State Hospital The VSC's primary mission is to improve the quality of life and enhance the well-being of patients receiving treatment at the San Antonio State Hospital.

The goal of the VSC is to improve the lives of patients at the San Antonio State Hospital and the staff who serve them. The funds we raise go toward providing the Hospital’s patients necessities that make life more comfortable – from coats in the wintertime, to holiday gifts, and long distance calls to friends and family. Our compassionate volunteers and the money we raise directly enhance the hea

lth of patients. We like to think that we provide the other half of the healing process. SASH is proud of its very active Volunteer Services Council which, among other contributions, has provided the patients and hospital with the following:

Meditation Garden

Patric Sexton Dennis Memorial Center

Navarro Shade Pavilions

Adolescent Sports Court

San Jacinto Outdoor Oasis

Monuments for Mount Calm East

Adolescent Unit Raised Beds

Adolescent Unit Playscape

San Jacinto Plaza Greenhouse
