Proud to volunteer with the Rotary Club of Alamo Ranch at Barber Gabe’s 13th Annual Back 2 School Event! 🎒✂️

It was incredible to see our community come together alongside 1st Choice Realty and ProLift Garage Doors to help more than 300 students start the school year with confidence. Families received backpacks filled with school supplies, while volunteers continued adding socks, shoes, and other essential clothing items. Local barbers generously donated their time to provide free haircuts. There was also face painting and other prizes such as soccer balls which brought plenty of smiles throughout the day.

What stood out most was seeing Barber Gabe’s vision in action. For 13 years, he has brought together businesses, organizations, and volunteers to invest in local students and families, creating an event that truly makes a difference.

Moments like these remind me why I’m grateful to serve with Rotary. When neighbors, businesses, and service organizations work together, we can make a meaningful impact. ❤️

🏡 People of Action in Motion! 💙💛

What an incredible way to begin another year of service!

The Rotary Club of Alamo Ranch was honored to volunteer alongside more than 1,000 community volunteers during Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio’s historic 50-Hour Home Build, celebrating 50 years of creating safe, affordable housing for families in our community.

Our members rolled up their sleeves to help construct wall frames and assist with landscaping, joining volunteers from businesses, nonprofits, faith communities, and fellow Rotarians from across San Antonio. Even rainy weather couldn’t stop this amazing team from reaching the finish line!

The highlight of the day was meeting future homeowner Yadira Salas. Seeing her gratitude reminded us that service isn’t just about building a house, it’s about helping build hope, stability, and opportunity.

This home is one of 35 that will become Methodist Meadows, a new neighborhood made possible through the partnership between Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio (habitatforhumanitysa) and Methodist Healthcare Ministries (mhmstx).

Congratulations to Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio on 50 years of changing lives, and thank you to every volunteer who helped make this milestone possible. We are grateful to have served alongside our Rotary family, including the Rotary Club of San Antonio South.

🎒 Help Local Students Start the School Year Strong! ✏️📚

The Rotary Club of Alamo Ranch is collecting school supplies to support local students at our annual Back2School Event!

From now until August 1, we’re inviting our community to help ensure every child begins the school year with the tools they need to learn, grow, and succeed.

Can’t shop? Monetary donations are also welcome and will be used to purchase needed supplies.

Every backpack filled, every notebook donated, and every dollar given helps a student walk into the classroom with confidence.

A new Rotary year brings a fresh opportunity to reflect, grow, and serve with renewed purpose.

We’re grateful for the friendships, service projects, and lessons from the past year. Every challenge strengthened our commitment to making a difference in our community.

As we embrace this year’s theme, “Unite for Good,” let’s remain open to new ideas, new partnerships, and new ways to create lasting impact. Together, we can elevate our service and inspire positive change.

How do community partnerships strengthen education?

At our recent Rotary Club of San Antonio Alamo Ranch meeting, we had the opportunity to learn from Alan Sale, Assistant Director of Development for Northside ISD and the Northside Education Foundation.

One thing became clear: supporting students goes far beyond the classroom.

📚 Mentorship helps students discover future career paths.
📖 Reading programs build confidence and literacy.
🍎 Food pantries and clothes closets support families in need.
🧦 Basic necessities like socks and undergarments can make a significant difference in a student's day.
✂️ Community partners, including volunteer barbers, help students start the school year with confidence and dignity.
💡 Educational grants provide resources for innovative classroom and STEM programs.

With more than 100,000 students across 130 campuses, Northside ISD demonstrates how schools and community organizations can work together to create meaningful impact.

If you visited just one Rotary club each day, it would take nearly 80 years to visit them! By then, thousands more clubs would likely exist!
