🚨 I’m crying just having to share this. It hurts. A lot.
Sophia — the brave, beautiful South Texas girl who inspired thousands of us with her cancer fight — has gained her wings.
Her father, Jay, wrote through unimaginable pain:
“My baby is no more pain and gained her wings. I pray for all the kids with cancer. No kid should suffer this. Te amo, Sophia, por toda la vida.”
Just five days ago, we were celebrating her 10th birthday. Cars lined the streets. People honked and waved. Strangers became family for a little girl who just wanted to be home.
Twelve days after her parents made the heartbreaking decision to stop treatment… she was gone.
We watched her journey.
The singer who stood at her hospital bedside, filling that sterile room with music and hope.
The photo of her father sitting on a hospital bathroom floor, holding her in his arms so she wouldn’t suffer alone — a moment that defined what relentless love looks like.
Sophia fought leukemia with everything she had. Three rounds of the strongest chemo. Months inside hospital walls. Six long months away from normal childhood moments.
And still, she smiled.
Just like the one her family sees in this photo.
One they hope we all hold onto.
If you’ve followed Sophia’s story on my page… if you prayed… if you drove by on her birthday… if you cried with this family from a distance…
Please leave something for them right here.
What do you say to parents who held their daughter until her final breath?
What do you say to a family who loved her this fiercely?
Let them feel you.
