Why the rainbow bridge is empty at Christmas

The night before Christmas, and the rainbow bridge stands empty - WHAT? where are all the dogs and cats? simple really- their spirits are back home with their loved ones- they are heart holders in life, and their spirit continues to hold your heart- but, on Christmas Eve they go back to the bridge to gather the spirits of ALL the dogs and cats who spent lives of quiet desperation, waiting for a heart to hold, never having that love, dying by starvation, being hit by a car, or by a needle in a pound- dying without a heart to hold- or dying after being abandoned by a person who didn't value their dog or cat holding their heart - dying alone- all those dogs and cats are at the bridge- yours is with you, but on Christmas eve they travel back to the bridge and gather spirits by the thousands, gather them and bring them along for a ride to your house- ever feel like your house is so full at christmas, even if the room is empty? that is because your dogs and cats brought along all those left unloved to feel the warmth, see the caring, and share the hearts they hold- for every dog or cat you rescue, those not wanted come to you at christmas to share and hold your heart for a day- YOU are LOVED by ALL- just open yourself to the truth- the room will be filled on Christmas Eve- Feel the warmth as you heart is held by all, not just your chose few-and why are You blessed like this? because you do rescue- for those who do rescue, every Christmas Eve your hearth and home will fill with the spirits of the ones not taken, of the ones you have loved, of all the ones who for one night get to feel the love, just as you do-

Today, October 27th, is officially National Black Cat Day, a day for those to celebrate black cats and raise awareness on how they are often overlooked for adoption.

The day was created by the Cats Protection charity in an attempt to debunk bad luck superstitions, celebrate, and increase the odds of black cats being rescued and loved.

Winter Heating Safety Reminder

Never use a stove to heat a home

Space Heaters Dust and lint may have accumulated in the space heater. Be sure to clean them thoroughly with a vacuum cleaner. Caution children not to stand too close to a space heater to warm up, as their clothing could catch fire. Give space heaters their space! Be sure that all combustible material is away from the heater, at least 3' in all directions. Plug only1 heat-producing appliance (such as a space heater) into an electrical outlet at a time.

Floor Furnaces Floor furnaces are safest when they are equipped with a thermostat and automatic shut off device. Clean the floor furnace by removing the grate and using a vacuum to remove dust and lint from inside the unit.

Central Heaters Clean or replace the furnace filter. Clean the entire furnace to remove dust and lint. Be sure to remove any combustible material stored in the heater closet.

Fireplaces Inspect the fireplace and chimney at least once a year. Look for cracks in the firebox, flue, and chimney. Also, check for the build-up of soot inside the flue. Open the damper enough to allow the smoke and gases to escape up the chimney. Never start a fire with gasoline, kerosene, or any other flammable liquid. Always keep a good-quality metal fireplace screen in front of the fireplace whenever it is being used to prevent burning logs from rolling out or embers from flying out.

Hoarding puts first responders in harm’s way. Firefighters cannot move swiftly through a home filled with clutter. Fighting fires is very risky in a hoarding home. It is hard to enter the home to provide medical care. The clutter impedes the search and rescue of people and pets.

Also maintained your dryer for warming clothes...clean out lint trap and hoses.
