We’re proud to introduce Sandy Winkley, Treasurer of the North East Educational Foundation Board! 💙
For Sandy, supporting NEISD is more than a commitment—it’s personal.
“I am passionate about our NEISD community. To support an organization that funds innovative programs for NEISD students is one way I can give back to the District that helped raise me, and our two children.”
Sandy’s connection to NEISD runs deep. She is an NEISD alum, a current NEISD resident, works for an advisory firm within the NEISD boundaries, and is a former NEISD Trustee. Her many connections to our community give her a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the impact NEEF can make for students and educators.

As we continue our new social media rotation, we’re excited to shine a spotlight each month on the committees and leaders who help make the work of the North East Educational Foundation possible. 💙

This dedicated group of leaders provides guidance, vision, and support that helps move NEEF forward. From overseeing the Foundation’s work and supporting our committees to helping build relationships throughout our NEISD community, their leadership plays an important role in our mission to invest in educators and students. 🎓💙

🎒 Eight Educators. Eight Baskets. One Amazing Community. In addition to celebrating our Student Impact Grant winners, NEEF had one more surprise at each Convocation—we gifted a basket of school supplies to an NEISD educator in every cluster! 🥳📚

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we’re able to continue finding ways to surprise, support, and celebrate the educators who pour so much into our students every day. ❤️

🌟 BOARD MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: SHANNON GRONA 🌟

We’re proud to introduce Shannon Grona, Vice Chair of the North East Educational Foundation Board! 💙

For Shannon, serving NEISD isn’t just a role—it’s a commitment that has spanned more than two decades.

“I have been a volunteer in the District for the past 23 years, serving on the NEISD Board of Trustees for the past 12 years. I chose not to seek re-election to the Board in 2024, however I wasn’t ready to stop volunteering for our District. I applied for NEEF so that I could continue to serve NEISD in some capacity.”

That spirit of continued service is exactly what makes Shannon such a valuable part of NEEF. Her dedication to our schools, educators, and students continues in a new way, and we are so grateful she chose to keep serving alongside us.

Thank you, Shannon, for 23 years of giving back to NEISD and for continuing to find ways to make a difference! 🌟

We were overwhelmed with gratitude during Convocation when H-E-B surprised NEEF with a generous $5,000 donation to support our Student Impact Grants! 🎉

This gift is so much more than a donation—it’s an investment in teachers, students, and the opportunities that help them thrive. ❤️

At NEEF, we believe that none of what we do is possible without the incredible support of our community. Every partner who gives, volunteers, advocates, or simply believes in our students helps us create opportunities that reach classrooms and change lives.

It’s time to RISE UP!!! ⬆️🌟
Today at Convocation, we were thrilled to surprise Elise Rosen of Serna Elementary with a $8,178.00 Student Impact Grant for the Rise Up!!! Grant! 🥳👏
This project will provide safe, professional performance risers and dedicated instrument tables, helping approximately 300 students each year be seen, heard, and celebrated as they share their talents with their families and school community. 🎤🎵❤️
From concerts to assemblies and special events, these resources will help students build confidence, strengthen their musical skills, and create memories that last far beyond the performance. ✨
We are ready to see Serna students STEP UP, STAND TALL & SHINE! 🌟🎶
👏 Congratulations, Elise and Serna Elementary! We can’t wait to watch your students RISE UP!

Celebrating 75 years of MacArthur High School, the cluster brought the decades to life with each school representing a different era! 🕺💃

From energizing student performances to the incredible spirit of Brahma alumni through the years, the celebration was a true tribute to 75 years of memories, tradition, and Brahma pride! 🐂❤️💙
