I'm not sure I have everyone's current email address, so I wanted to post this important update here:
I hope you all are doing well, and that all our teachers have begun a successful academic year. On the day we took our Oath of Initiation, we swore to remain committed to Sinfonia for a lifetime. In 2009, San Antonio took a giant step and chartered the Greater San Antonio Alumni Association for brothers to continue to live those bonds of brotherhood.
In the past few months, for a number of reasons, that charter has entered a dangerous state. I’m writing to ask you to for a recommitment to Phi Mu Alpha and to our Alumni Association. I know we are all busy with families and school commitments. The reimagined Association will only have three or four formal events per year: An event tied to TMEA, an event surrounding Founders Day/Mills Music Mission, and a Holiday event where your family will be invited to join our festivities. Less commitment, but more meaningful events. We will also host an optional monthly happy hour… join if you’re free and if you need a drink.
Our Association is required to submit our annual report by October 6, and if we cannot guarantee AT LEAST 10 committed (dues paying) members (and officers), we will have to forfeit our charter. Your monetary contributions to the Alumni Association will help us pay our annual dues to our Headquarters at Lyrecrest.
Please join me in a recommitment to the ideals we fell in love with. Simply reply to this post if you are able and willing to recommit to our Association, and indicate if you would be willing to serve as an officer to help organize our few events. I will reply to you with details on how to remit your $25 annual dues for 2017.
Yours in Phi, Mu, and Alpha,
Isaac Chavez, Nu Eta (1998)
