Kappa Sigma- ΛΨ Chapter.

Founded in 1869 at the University of Virginia, Kappa Sigma International Headquarters is based in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Kappa Sigma is the largest college social fraternity in the world with more than 200,000 living members, including over 20,000 undergraduates and 320 chapters and colonies located throughout the United States and Canada.

Last semester, our chapter did a bottle cap drive in to donate in benefit of pediatric cancer. With the help of the community, we managed to collect over 8000 bottle caps! Our chapter decided to continue this effort this semester. We'll have bins set up once again, so keep a look out for those!

These past few weeks, our brothers worked closely with the office of community engagement to collect plastic bottle caps. We raised over 8,000 caps with the help of our Greek and StMU community! The caps were donated to Banco de Tapitos in Matamoros to help pay for treatments for kids with cancer. Thank you to everyone who took the time to collect their bottle caps for us. This means a lot to our chapter and Brother JJ who is a survivor and lead this effort. Here is a message from JJ.

“I’d like to thank my brothers for allowing me the opportunity to finally execute and achieve this passion project that I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I’d also like to thank the St. Mary’s community for helping us achieve the goal of helping these children that don’t have the means to receive treatment that greatly impacts their fight against their dragons named cancer. God willing this makes a true difference for patients needing these chemos, and that with this donation they are able to get one step closer to overcoming their mountains." - Brother JuanJose Garcia

In honor of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 during the attack on the World Trade Center, Kappa Sigma chapters across the country have pledged to thank our first responders. Today, our chapter took part by taking lunch to the firefighters of Station 27. We had the pleasure of taking a tour of the station. We're very thankful to these men and women for keeping San Antonio safe.

Our brothers went out this morning and took part of St. Mary's Continuing The Heritage hosted by and

We had our brothers split between Animal Care Services and United Way Family Resource Center. At the Animal Care Center, we helped the staff keep the dogs entertained for adoption photos while other students helped build dog houses. At the Family Resource Center, we helped in setting up their new office by helping sort and store food, sort books, and more. We also decided to make a donation consisting of rice, oats, and fideo. We're proud to have joined the StMU community in making a lasting impact in San Antonio.
